4.2 brings Global Football's first tournament mode. Every Saturday and Sunday there's a cup, with a live bracket, coin prizes and a trophy on the winners' profiles.
Lightning Cup — the headline
- Saturday and Sunday at 9 PM, in your region's time. There's a cup in Brazil, the US and Europe, each on its own server.
- Sign-ups open from 8:50 to 9:00 PM. Join solo or with your party. Just be online when it starts.
- 3v3, knockout. Every team wears a randomly drawn national team, name and kit.
- A draw? Penalty shootout. Matches have no fouls; penalties only show up to settle it.
- Bots fill the teams. If someone drops, a bot takes over on the spot and the player can come back to their slot.
- Play while you wait. Until your match starts, play a training game: we'll let you know and take you to the cup.
- Prizes: 1,000 coins for each player on the winning team, 500 for the runners-up and 100 for taking part.
- A trophy on your profile for the champion and runner-up, with a notification in the menu bell.
- Live bracket, cup history, top scorers and an assists ranking on the tournament screen.
Invite friends
- New INVITE FRIENDS button: send the link on WhatsApp or anywhere you like.
- When your friend finishes their first match, you both get 200 coins.

- Racha Hour: 9 to 10 PM (Brazil and Europe), double XP and +20 coins per match.
- Weekly XP ranking: every Monday, the week's top 3 get 500, 300 and 200 coins.
- An item box right after your first match for new players.
- Daily deal: one shop item at 50% off every day.
- Been away? There's a gift: come back after 7 days and get 150 coins.
Improvements
- PC tutorial with keyboard or controller: choose Mouse + Keyboard, Keyboard or Controller, and move through the screens without a mouse. We also fixed a bug that stopped you getting past step 3.
- Player and team search on mobile.
- Ranked queue bar on the PC menu, with the time and the players.
- Smarter bots: throw-ins use the right power and they no longer slow down when they reach the ball.
