Greetings, Star Guardians.

This is PD Koo of .

First, we would like to sincerely thank all of our Star Guardians for the great deal of feedback you provided through AMA Season 3.

In a short period of time, you shared detailed feedback across a wide range of areas, including combat, quality-of-life features, and stability. While we were unable to address every topic during the AMA, our entire development team is carefully reviewing each point that was raised.

In this edition of Developer Notes, we would like to address the questions we were unable to cover in the previous Developer Notes.

■ Bugs and Optimization

We have received a great deal of feedback regarding game performance and server stability. We are continuing to review these technical areas and make improvements, while also investigating issues identified both internally and through reports from our Star Guardians and working on the necessary fixes.

We are working to address the control issues and crashes that occurred on PlayStation®5 following the Version 2.1 update as quickly as possible. In particular, we are conducting a focused investigation into the stuttering and crashes occurring primarily in the Ferzen Mines.

We have also received feedback from many Star Guardians about controls across different platforms, particularly difficulties on mobile devices and platform-specific control issues on PC and PlayStation®5.

Many of you also shared feedback about using Dishes. We are preparing improvements to make Dishes easier to use, which we plan to introduce by Version 2.5.

We will continue to address bugs and improve gameplay stability, controls, and performance, rolling out fixes as soon as they are ready.

Once again, we sincerely apologize.

■ Responses Regarding Combat Mechanics

Many Star Guardians have shared feedback regarding the role of Burst Specialists. Because Combined Attacks also allow Attackers to trigger Burst directly, triggering Burst through Combined Attacks has remained the more common approach up through Merlin’s release. We recognize that this has left Burst Specialists with less room to stand out, despite their strength in triggering Burst quickly.

Starting with Ban, we have been expanding the role of new Burst Specialists to give them a greater impact in combat. As seen with Khala, we plan to continue broadening their role so that they can contribute in more varied ways when either they or their team triggers Burst.

We also want to continue bringing more variety to combat by building on existing systems, from Burst-based combat to the use of Perfect Dodge. The new hero coming in Version 2.2 will also introduce additional combat elements, including effects triggered by successful dodges and mechanics such as Perfect Charge. We plan to continue building on the current combat system to offer an even wider range of combat experiences.

At the same time, we are also exploring ways to refine or rework the current combat mechanics. Rather than rushing to decide on and implement changes, we intend to review these possibilities from a longer-term perspective through the end of the year.

Our discussions extend beyond simply expanding hero skill effects and include potential changes to the underlying mechanics of heroes and combat. We will share more details once the direction and plans have been finalized.

We have also received feedback that it can be difficult to check the stats of individual monsters. Similar to Balor’s Evil Eye from the original series, we are planning a feature that will allow you to view monster information, with the goal of introducing it by Version 2.5.

■ Responses Regarding Weapon and Armor Crafting & Salvage

Through the AMA, many of you shared feedback that Engraved Equipment cannot be salvaged and ends up taking up Bag space unnecessarily. We understand that this concern mainly comes from Star Guardians who, after crafting Engraved Equipment, use leftover Brilliant Engraving Seals to craft additional pieces.

Duplicate Engraved Equipment can currently be used in place of Remnants of the Rift. However, given the amount of materials required to craft Engraved Equipment, we understand that using duplicate pieces solely to reroll bonuses may not feel worthwhile.

As of Version 2.0, Engraved Equipment had been added for all existing heroes, and future additions will mainly focus on new heroes. As a result, we recognize that there are gradually fewer uses for leftover Brilliant Engraving Seals.

With many of you also raising concerns about the shortage of materials needed for Engraved Equipment Transcendence, we plan to introduce additional salvage rewards in Version 2.2. Salvaging SSR Engraved Equipment will grant materials such as Transcendence Refinement Stones, while salvaging SR Engraved Equipment will grant fragments that can be used to craft Brilliant Engraving Seals. This is intended to make it easier to continue crafting SR Engraved Equipment while progressing toward obtaining SSR Engraved Equipment.

We have also received feedback that there are not enough opportunities to directly craft SSR Special Weapons, as SSR Special Weapon Crafting Blueprints can currently only be exchanged once per new hero banner for 10 Star Trace Crystalloids. We recognize that this limitation makes it particularly difficult for Star Guardians who joined Origin later to directly craft the Special Weapons they want.

To address this, we plan to expand the opportunities to exchange for these Blueprints, allowing Star Guardians to obtain previously released Special Weapons directly through crafting.

■ Response Regarding SR Weapons

We have received feedback that there are currently limited weapon options suited to Support heroes.

While we have continued to introduce new weapon sets, including the recently added “Lichdragon’s Roar,” many of these weapons have been designed around the various mechanics of Attacker heroes rather than the needs of Support heroes. As a result, we recognize that Support heroes focused on aiding their allies currently rely largely on SR-grade weapons.

A new weapon set is also planned for Version 2.2. Just as we have introduced a variety of weapons suited to Attacker roles, we are also preparing a weapon set better suited to Support heroes, which we plan to introduce in the second half of this year.

In the longer term, we plan to continue expanding the range of weapon sets that can enhance the distinct strengths of each role. We hope you will look forward to the variety of weapons coming in future updates.

■ Response Regarding Open-World Content Expansion

Many of you have shared feedback and suggestions regarding seafaring and water-based content.

As we have continued building the world of Britannia in Origin, our development team has long envisioned expanding gameplay onto the water and out to sea. The ship you encounter at the end of Act 1 was one part of that vision. We plan to introduce this type of content as the Main Story continues to unfold, and are currently preparing to bring it to you sometime next year.

Origin’s world continues to expand as the Main Story progresses. By bringing in regions from the original series, as well as places that were never fully depicted in the original, we are gradually building out the Britannia we envisioned.

As the story continues, we also plan to add a variety of content throughout the world already established in Origin, allowing us to show you even more within the world we have built so far.

We have also received a great deal of feedback regarding a fishing tournament. We are preparing to introduce this as a casual event in Version 2.4, so we hope you will look forward to it.

■ Future Update Plans

The Bag expansion mentioned in the previous Developer Notes is currently being prepared for the upcoming Version 2.2 update. As this will require us to store more information about the items owned by each Star Guardian, we are currently carrying out the necessary technical checks.

As mentioned in the previous Developer Notes, we also plan to begin rerunning Pick Up Draws for existing heroes starting with Version 2.2. During each version update period, we plan to feature one SSR hero selected from either the Regular Hero Draw or previous Pick Up heroes. For reruns, we intend to focus on heroes that were released some time ago and can work well with newly released Pick Up heroes.

We are also working to adjust boss spawn times in the Timespace Junction based on feedback from Star Guardians, with the goal of applying this change in Version 2.3.

In addition, we are preparing improvements to the equipment sorting filters mentioned in the previous Developer Notes, with Version 2.4 as our target. Development is also underway on a new seasonal event planned for Version 2.3.

Across Versions 2.2 and 2.3, in addition to the new region and Main Story content mentioned in previous Developer Notes, we also plan to introduce Timespace Junction Extra content that will require the use of a wider variety of heroes, as well as a Halloween event.

We are also preparing Corrupt Berserk content to be introduced alongside the World Level 5 expansion planned for Version 2.3, as well as the second Original Story Quest. We hope you will look forward to what is coming.

The development team is also continuing to review the feedback we were unable to cover in this edition of Developer Notes. Based on the feedback you have shared, we will continue to keep you updated as new improvements and additions are prepared.

Our entire development team will continue doing our best to make even more attuned to the voices of our Star Guardians.

As we bring AMA Season 3 to a close, we have also prepared a gift as a small token of our appreciation. We hope you will continue to follow Origin and share your feedback with us.
