Hi everyone!

First of all, thank you for clicking into this release announcement.

If you’re reading this, maybe you’ve been following Ved: Recure for a while. Maybe you played one of our Playtests or the Demo. Or maybe you just happened to come across the game and thought it looked interesting.

Whatever brought you here, thank you. Really.

Ved: Recure is a game we’ve been working on for more than three years.

In a way, the journey of our team has been a little similar to what you’ll experience in the game.

At the very beginning, this was a game made by just one person.

Then more teammates joined, and we grew into a team of five. As development continued, we expanded to nine people this year.

Everyone on the team has their own strengths and specialties, just like each character in the game has their own weapons and playstyle.

We came together because we wanted to make the same kind of game, and we’ve been working toward that goal together ever since.

And today, the game is finally out.

Before anything else, here’s our latest trailer:

What kind of game did we want to make?

From the very beginning, we wanted Ved: Recure to be a Roguelite with a strong focus on action and interaction.

That’s why we created our Buff Chain system.

Basically, you can assign different Buffs / Perks to specific triggers, such as parries, dodge counters, attack finishers, and more.

This means that in Ved: Recure, many of your abilities don’t simply activate automatically once you pick them up. You need to actually perform the right actions to trigger them.

You need to watch your enemies, react to their attacks, and find the right moment to parry or dodge before setting your Buff Chain into motion.

This is also one of the ways our game differs from more traditional Roguelite designs.

In many Roguelites, you collect powerful Perks and build combinations that can affect multiple enemies at once.

We wanted to take a slightly different approach.

Instead, we want you to build a complete “team” of abilities, combining different Perks and deciding when and in what order they should trigger.

For example, you might use one Buff to control an enemy, another to deal damage, and then trigger additional effects through a specific action.

You decide how your Buffs work together, what order they activate in, and when you want to trigger them.

That’s how we wanted to bring together the action and Roguelite sides of the game.

During development, we spent a lot of time thinking about one question:

How much should Ved: Recure be an action game, and how much should it be a Roguelite?

In the end, we decided that player skill should be the bridge between the two.

Even if you have a very powerful Perk, you still need to perform actions such as perfect parries, dodge counters, or attack finishers to trigger it.

So at its core, Ved: Recure is still an action game.

The Roguelite elements are more like a toolbox that gives you different options.

You choose the tools you want, then figure out how to use them to overcome the enemies in front of you.

In the full release, we have Buffs covering different mechanics, including crowd control, healing, damage, and more.

We hope you’ll have fun experimenting with them and building your own Buff Chains and builds.

Thank you for everyone's feedback during Playtest and Demo

We started running Playtests in September 2024, and earlier this year, we also released a Demo.

Throughout that process, we received a lot of valuable feedback from players.

Some suggestions immediately made us think, “Yep, we need to change that.”

Others led to much longer discussions within the team.

Of course, we couldn’t implement every piece of feedback we received, but a lot of it did make its way into the game as development continued.

One of the clearest examples is difficulty.

This was probably one of the areas where we received the most different opinions.

Some players felt the game was too difficult, while others thought it was too easy.

So in the end, we added four difficulty levels, hoping that different players could find a way to enjoy the game at their own pace.

On Easy, enemies will give you a red warning indicator before attacking.

There are also Normal and Hard difficulties.

Once you clear Hard, you’ll unlock Extreme.

We originally wanted to add more variations to enemy attacks on Very Hard, giving experienced players even more to learn and master.

However, due to our current development budget, we weren’t able to implement those changes for launch.

If the game does well after release, we’d love to have the opportunity to continue adding new content in the future.

We also added a Training Ground.

If you run into a Boss for the first time and can’t beat it, you can head to the Training Ground and fight that Boss again.

You can take your time learning its attacks and practice your parries and dodges as many times as you need.

We hope this gives everyone a way to play and learn the game at their own pace.

If you run into a bug

We’ve made countless small and large adjustments throughout development.

But even after more than three years of development, we know the game isn’t going to be perfect.

So if you run into any problems while playing, please let us know through the following channel:

Finally, thank you again.

Thank you to everyone who joined our Playtests, played the Demo, left us feedback, or simply followed us along the way.

We started with just one person working on the game. Now, nine of us have finally made it to the finish line together.

It’s been a very long journey.

And today, we can finally put Ved: Recure in your hands.

We hope you enjoy it.

And we hope you’ll find your own way to play.

If you have any thoughts after playing, feel free to leave us a comment.

We’ll be reading.

Thank you, everyone.
