I’m doing my best. I really want to release the major update by the first of the month, but I don’t want to promise anything yet — there is simply too much work to do.
I can spend 20 hours a day working with the engine and everything related to the technical side of the game, but my designer simply can’t keep up with such a large workload.
Right now, I’m looking for an additional designer so this doesn’t become a problem in the future — and so eventually I’ll be the one drowning in work instead of the design side 🙂
Today, we have another new computer application:
TenderBoard
I heard your requests for a proper tender system and the ability to customize your proposals.
Let me put it this way: there will be around 15 different parameters that you’ll be able to adjust when preparing your offer.
Money and deadlines are obvious. There will also be insurance options, but of a new type. In the first version, they will directly affect the final result percentage.
Later, they will also influence the “dialogues” and inspections that happen during construction.
There will also be one feature that, secretly, won’t be fully functional during the first week after the update releases.
The Warranty Period.
A little advice in advance: I wouldn’t recommend setting extremely long warranty periods in this window.
The system will be designed to work with existing save files as well, and if you decide to set a 100-year warranty… I’m afraid you may find yourself sending workers back to old projects quite often just to avoid losing reputation 🙂
I’m still thinking about how refusing warranty obligations should work, but most likely breaking your commitments will cost you a significant amount of money and reputation.
At the moment, this application is exactly 50% complete.
From the development side, TenderBoard will contain 10 windows in total.
There are 5 windows here, plus another 10 in the subcontractor hiring application.
Also, following player requests, whenever I’m waiting for new images/assets and can’t continue certain parts of development, I’ve slowly started adding Italian localization to the game.
