The Director's Cut is here!
The Director's Cut version of THE MULLER-POWELL PRINCIPLE is now available on Steam, featuring various bugfixes, optimizations, gameplay and narrative revisions and an overall updated experience.
We've also localized the game into several new languages thanks to the amazing people that volunteered to help us. The game is now available in Polish, Ukrainian, German, Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish and Chinese (Simplified).
More is to come
During these days we will be continuing supporting the game and polishing the experience even further. We also have plans on adding more languages, with Japanese, Italian, French and Traditional Chinese already being in the works.
Thank you all for your support and I hope you will enjoy this new revised version of our game. Have a good time breaking the Principle!

Patch notes
Engine & foundation
Upgraded from Unreal Engine 4.27 to the latest UE version (5.8.2), which allowed us to have a more stable foundation and remove dependancies on some obsolete third-party plugins. However, no UE5 rendering features like Lumen and Nanite are used, the game still relies on classic approach for graphics and lighting
Save system is rebuilt from scratch for more stability. NOTE: Saves from older versions (apart from level start saves) will be deleted when game launches - they're no longer supported. Level start saves will still be available.
Game options overhaul, added some new settings, some redundant graphics options removed.
Audio balancing, added muffling for ambient sounds when characters' dialogues are playing to make them easier to hear
Lighting overhaul and optimizations: lighting on all levels was redone to provide better visuals as well as better framerates. Removed lots of redundant dynamic lights in favor of baked lightmaps. Reflections & colorgrading fixes
Gameplay
Photon gun — Significantly reworked for more stable behavior. It charges energy noticeably faster and switches between energy types more reliably. Shooting objects with the gun responds more consistently, and some of those interactions are faster than before.
Floating islands & gravity manipulation mechanics are reworked to be more comfortable and stable
Interaction — Interaction with objects was reworked overall to work more consistently. Picking up, carrying, and releasing objects is more reliable.
Shadow encounters — all encounters/chase sequences invloving the Shadow were completely reworked from scratch to make them more comfortable and accessable
The Reactor chapter — this chapter's gameplay loop was previously known to cause major issues for the players, now it's completely reworked to be more intuitive and fun.
Bossfights - bossfights were reworked to remove the difficulty spike that was previously too frustrating for a majority of players, lots of bossfight mechanics were made to be more accessable and intuitive
Interaction tutorials were added in the first levels of the game
Some of the puzzles were changed to be more intuitive
Various other QoL changes were implemented to make the game more enjoyable.
Narrative
The narrative in the first game chapters was improved to provide better context of what's going on in the game. Some dialogues were moved or slightly changed, some new cutscenes were added.
Localization
The game now features 8 languages:
English
Russian
Polish
Ukrainian
German
Portuguese (Brazilian)

Chinese (Simplified)
Our plans for the coming days
Add more stability and QoL improvements
Localize the game into several more languages
Add DLSS and other upscalers support, as well as support for supersampling (playing on bigger resolution than your monitor allows to reduce the need for AA)
