In V2.6.0, we made substantial changes to the D-Effect Zone to bring you greater challenges and rewards to match.
However, those changes were clearly not well received. The steep difficulty curve, in particular, led to a frustrating experience for Keepers at different stages of progression: too easy for some, too difficult for others. This was certainly not what we intended.
On reflection, I believe that, given the current state of the game, insisting on fitting the difficulty into just four tiers was a poor decision—and I bear primary responsibility for it.
Since these changes failed to achieve their intended purpose, we should correct them rather than ask you to keep putting up with an unsuitable difficulty structure.
With that in mind, we will be making further adjustments to the D-Effect Zone next week, on September 28!
Difficulty Adjustments
The number of difficulty tiers will increase from four to seven, while the easiest and hardest stages will remain unchanged. The first wave of Tier 1 will be worth 60 points, with each subsequent stage worth 5 points more.
In terms of the overall experience, this will feel more like adding two tiers to the five-tier structure that existed before V2.6.0, making the difficulty progression smoother rather than steeper. The difficulty and reward distribution across tiers will also be adjusted accordingly.
Tier 1 is designed for newer Keepers, with score rewards primarily consisting of Silver.
Reaching 50, 100, 150, 250, and 350 points will award 300 Silver at each milestone. Reaching 350 points will also award 1 Gnosis Primer.
Tiers 2 and 3 are designed for Keepers who are still developing their teams, with score rewards primarily consisting of Gnosis Fragments, supplemented by smaller amounts of Silver.
From 355 through 400 points, each reward milestone at 5-point intervals will award 5 Gnosis Fragments. Reaching 375 and 400 points will also award an additional 300 Silver each.
Tiers 4 and 5 are designed for experienced Keepers with well-developed teams, with score rewards primarily consisting of Refined Gnosis Fragments, supplemented by smaller amounts of Silver.
From 405 through 450 points, each reward milestone at 5-point intervals will award 5 Refined Gnosis Fragments. Reaching 425 and 450 points will also award an additional 300 Silver each.
Tiers 6 and 7 are designed for Keepers seeking the toughest challenges, with rewards primarily consisting of larger amounts of Rose Scrip, supplemented by a small number of Formless One's Invitations.
Reward Adjustments
Compared with V2.6.0, the total rewards available each cycle will increase further!
New and increased rewards:
Silver: The total will increase from 2,500 to 2,700.
Gnosis Primer: A new reward of 1 Gnosis Primer will be available at 350 points.
Formless One's Gift Card: The total will increase from 50 to 100, available within the 405–500-point range.
Rose Scrip: The total will increase from 1,500,000 to 4,500,000, available within the 405–500-point range.
Formless One's Invitation: The total will increase from 5 to 10, awarded at the 475- and 500-point milestones.
Rewards whose totals will remain unchanged:
Black Offering: 15,000, available within the 50–400-point range.
Gnosis Fragment: 50.
Refined Gnosis Fragment: 50.
Gameplay Improvements
These adjustments also mean that you will once again be able to take on additional challenges with five teams to work toward the next reward tier!Following the V2.6.0 changes, many Keepers told us they wanted that choice back. Now, it is returning!
The Emergency Gnosis support introduced in V2.6.0 will also remain: you will still be able to use Emergency Gnosis in the D-Effect Zone after these adjustments!
Once Again, Our Apologies
These adjustments focus on three goals:
To create a smoother difficulty progression, so Keepers at different stages of growth can find challenges suited to them.
To improve reward distribution and modestly increase the total rewards available each cycle, giving you clearer goals and rewards as you progress.
To restore the option of taking on additional challenges with extra teams to work toward the next reward tier, while retaining Emergency Gnosis support so you have more flexibility in how you approach each challenge.
If issues remain after these adjustments go live, we will continue to evaluate them and make further changes where needed.
Once again, I apologize for the frustrating experience caused by the V2.6.0 changes to the D-Effect Zone.
We hope you will continue to support B.I.A.V. Studio and Morimens!
