Happy one-week post launch! I've heard your feedback, and now we have more ways to play. Some have said the early game grind is too hard, some want more ways to earn coins, and some want the game to be harder.
So let's do it all!

When you select a level you'll get a pop-up asking you what your settings for this new game will be.

For game modes:
Normal - standard gameplay. Shelve items. Collect coins. Place things.
Challenge mode - Do that, but also get a small challenge every ten minutes prompting you to collect or shelve a certain item or item within a category, or go to a specific location for a bonus. This is ideal for people who think they know the game and items pretty well!
For coin payment modes:
Per shelf - Standard. If you fill a shelf, you get $1.
Per item - If you place an item correctly, you get paid for that item. Does a shelf need four items to become full? Cool. You get 25 cents per item placed.
Each mode benefits a different sort of player. Do you fill whole shelves first? Or do you fill shelves across the store slowly? This enables you to get rewarded sooner, even if incrementally.
And finally.. you can choose to begin your game with walk speed fully unlocked, sprint unlocked, crouching and jumping unlocked. Without impacting your coins. To offset the early game pain.
And, collectibles now give you a little coin boost. Crumpet has coins!
Note on old saves:
Old saves aren't impacted. They remain as 'Normal, pay per shelf' games. You can not change game-mode and payment type on old saves, or in general mid-gameplay due to the way coins are calculated. To access said features, you'll need to begin fresh.
As always, gentle reminder that there is options under 'accessibility' to give you every single ability unlock from the start, if that's how you want to play.
Patch Notes:
Fixed/Changed:
Collider issue at Supermarket managers office.
Collider issue with the transit card collectible.
Traversing corners/objects is easier now. Your collider is smaller.
No more 'zoom in while sprinting' fov. It was universally disliked. That's valid.
Added:
'Level settings' when selecting a map. This enables you to choose normal versus challenge mode, begin the game with sprint/walk speed/jump/crouch unlocked, and choose if you're paid per shelf or per item. See above text for details.
Collectibles now pay you a few coins per collectible found.
The supermarket levels item positions have been reshuffled to be more 'spread out' rather then dense piles.
A 'Controls' button in the settings button list, as some had difficulty finding it through Accessibility > Keybindings.
Coming in the next patch:
Performance improvements for issues impacting Steamdeck users specifically.
Some hitching occurs on saving games/auto-saves, and song track changing. This is being worked on.
On specific requests:
Co-op/Multiplayer: I have heard you, and I am beginning to learn about networking and animating characters for this purpose. But I'm not committing it to the roadmap yet. I need to educate myself first.
And once again, thank-you. This past week has been nothing short of amazing and dizzying. I did test this patch thoroughly, but if you discover anything amiss or have feedback please report it via the discussion section or directly to my emails, [email protected]
I am open to adding more challenge types, and more gamemode types in the future!
Thanks! :)
