Hello, Generals!
Less than a week is all that stands between you and Kingdom Rush Genesis, and around here at Ironhide we're feeling equal parts excitement and nerves while we put the finishing touches on the game, playtesting and polishing everything for the big day on September 24th.
We noticed that during our recent livestream showcasing the new UI and the upgrade system, plenty of you paused the stream to zoom in on the little portraits in the corner of the hero and tower rooms. We love when you do that! And with release this close, there's no reason left to keep teasing.
Today we're revealing the full lineup of Genesis: 15 towers, 12 heroes, 9 spells. Let's go!
The Heroes
You've already met Gerald, Zefira, Bolin, Connor, Ignus, Malik, Oni, Drakkan and Ashbite along the way, in devlogs, in the demo, and in the hero spotlights we've shared so far. That leaves three we've kept hidden:
RHODES, the Earth Bastion. Originally a simple elemental, Rhodes gained a will of its own thanks to the Stormcloud Sorcerers that put a Sun Gem in its chest as a magical experiment, granting it protective powers.
GEMINA, the Arcane Illusionist. Through her command of the arcane powers, Gemina creates magical illusions that she uses to fight several enemies at the same time, making her a formidable adversary.
ILLIANA, the Dragon Tamer. Looking to chart every corner of the world, Illiana and her dragon, Sparky, followed Alleria across the sea towards the new continent.
The Towers
Seven of these you've already met: Archer Garrison, Knights Order, Royal Catapult, Scholar Mage, Dwarven Culverin, the Elven Elite Ranger, and the very grumpy Ironbark Treant. Here are the other eight:
WILDCAT HUNTRESSES. Roaming through the forest, Silveroak's most trusted fighters are sworn to defend the elven realm.
GOLD PROSPECTORS. Daring dwarves that can use their picks both to fight off enemies and to extract gold wherever they go.
SUNRAY MASTER. Wielding light infused sun gems, the Stormcloud Sorcerers can fire short or sustained bursts of energy toward their unwitting foes.
LIGHT PRIESTESS. Devoted priestess from the Church of Light that dispatch enemies while protecting allies close to them.
CURSED CROSSBOWS. Following their lord's footsteps, the ranged infantry of Valardul also leant into using dark powers to defend their land.
ALCHEMIST SHACK. Valardul alchemists have their own way of fighting, using potions and tonics to hinder and hurt enemies.
ARCANE FORGER. The mages of Arcania use their powerful imagination to shape their magic into dangerous weapons.
SENTRY WATCHTOWER. No matter the distance, these sharpshooters eliminate any threat from their vantage point with patience and cutting-edge weaponry.
The Spells
Reinforcements, Rain of Fire and Royal Edict you've met in the demo. The other six round out the set:
GNOME'S SHOP. This successful gnome shop knows no boundaries, taking his business to the skies.
THUNDER ZAPPER. Even in the past, dwarves were known for fiddling with forces such as lightning, harnessing it as a deadly weapon.
TELEPORTATION SIGIL. The arcane arts of space displacement are often applied on the battlefield to disorganize enemy troops.
WINTERSONG'S WRATH. Elora Wintersong lends aid with her icy powers, summoning a blizzard that freezes and hinders enemies.
ASPECT OF SOL. The first paladin ever to be blessed by the Lightbringer can be summoned onto the battlefield when the situation is dire to lend his hammer to those worthy.
ACE MUSKETEERS. Musketeers are the latest addition to the Linirean ranks, using gunpowder rifles to take down important enemies.
