Following the announcement at gamescom and the first previews over the past few days, you can finally take a seat in the driver's cab yourself:
SubwaySim 2 – Berlin Route DLC: U4 is available now!
Take over services on one of the shortest lines of the Berlin U-Bahn and drive through the Berlin underground between Innsbrucker Platz and Nollendorfplatz.

The U4 Expands Berlin
With the DLC, the existing Berlin map grows with the addition of the U4 and its four stations:
Innsbrucker Platz – Rathaus Schöneberg - Bayerischer Platz – Viktoria-Luise-Platz - (Nollendorfplatz)
The individual stations have been recreated with their characteristic platforms, entrances and connecting areas, as well as individual signage, materials, lighting, and numerous other details.
The route also includes the corresponding track and tunnel sections, reversing facilities, and a variety of route-specific objects and details.
Just like with the GI/1E, this DLC was once again developed in collaboration with 3DZug.
One Route – One Connected Berlin
As we explained in our previous post, the U4 is not released as a separate map.
Instead, the DLC directly expands the existing Berlin map. If you own the U4, the new stations, tunnels, tracks, and route sections become part of your existing Berlin game world.
This means you don't have to switch between different versions of Berlin – you can experience the new areas within the same map.
New Signalling Technology and Dynamic Tunnel Lighting
The U4 also introduces several technical additions to SubwaySim 2.
A new signalling system has been implemented for the route, designed to more closely reflect the signalling technology and operational procedures of its real-world counterpart.
The tunnel sections also feature something new: dynamic tunnel lighting controls the lighting depending on ongoing operations.
Appropriate IBIS, ELA, and Daisy content has also been integrated into the new route.
Timetable, Career Mode, and Four Scenarios
Of course, you can operate the U4 as part of the regular Timetable Mode. The route comes with its own real-world-inspired timetables and can be driven in both directions.
The U4 is also integrated into Career Mode.
In addition to regular services, you'll find four specially created scenarios featuring different tasks and operational situations to master along the new route.
