⚠️ Global Progression, Stash & Economy Wipe (Fresh Start)
To ensure clean database serialization, prevent legacy data corruption, and ensure total stability following our major engine upgrade, all player profiles have been reset:
- Fresh Start for All Operators: Character inventories, global Hideout Stashes, player levels, and active contract progression have been reset across all dedicated servers and client saves.
- Why the Wipe is Necessary (UE 5.7 to UE 5.8.2 Engine Migration):
- Core Engine Upgrade (UE 5.7 ➔ UE 5.8.2): Upgrading the core engine architecture from Unreal Engine 5.7 to 5.8.2 fundamentally alters save serialization, struct memory layouts, and actor component pointers. Wiping legacy save files eliminates critical crashes, ghost inventory items, and corrupted profile data.
- New Safehouse Construction Infrastructure: The underlying save format now tracks permanent room expansion states, barricade deconstruction flags, and stash material crafting costs.
- New Campaign Directive Architecture: Contract trees have been rebuilt from the ground up for our 13-node campaign across Maryland and Ukraine, replacing legacy mission trackers.
- UE 5.8.2 Save Sanitizer: Integrated server-side save data deserialization and validation to prevent legacy corrupted items or duplicate IDs from carrying forward.
- Core Engine Upgrade (UE 5.7 ➔ UE 5.8.2): Upgrading the core engine architecture from Unreal Engine 5.7 to 5.8.2 fundamentally alters save serialization, struct memory layouts, and actor component pointers. Wiping legacy save files eliminates critical crashes, ghost inventory items, and corrupted profile data.
- Starting Loadout & Welfare Balance: All operators begin fresh in HQ_FUBAR with baseline starting funds, standard military contractor equipment, and immediate access to initial Safehouse planning directives.
Unreal Engine 5.8.2 Platform Migration (Upgraded from UE 5.7) & DLSS / FSR
The entire project foundation has been migrated from Unreal Engine 5.7 to Unreal Engine 5.8.2, featuring major rendering pipeline enhancements:
- Engine Upgrade from 5.7 to 5.8.2: Upgraded core engine architecture to UE 5.8.2, bringing enhanced multi-threading efficiency, lower CPU render-thread overhead, improved asset streaming, and rock-solid dedicated server performance.
- NVIDIA DLSS (UE 5.8.2 Integration): Fully updated and integrated the latest NVIDIA DLSS pipeline for 5.8.2. Delivers razor-sharp temporal reconstruction, ultra-high framerates, and superior clarity in high-density tactical environments with zero ghosting.
- AMD FSR Updates & Hardware Code Fixes:
- Upgraded AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) to the latest compatible build for UE 5.8.2.
- Resolved underlying shader compilation and backend buffer issues specific to AMD graphics cards, eliminating edge artifacting and frame-pacing micro-stutters.
- Full cross-vendor temporal upscaling is now 100% stable, verified, and operational across all modern GPU hardware configurations.
- Upgraded AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) to the latest compatible build for UE 5.8.2.
Safehouse Facility Construction & Crafting Subsystem
I have added modular hideout progression, allowing operators to build, unlock, and upgrade facilities across the Safehouse:
- Interactive Construction Stations: Modular expansion hubs placed throughout HQ_FUBAR featuring a dedicated UMG Construction & Crafting interface.
- Smart Stash & Inventory Material Scanner: The construction engine automatically scans your personal carried inventory and global Hideout Stash in real time, validating crafting materials, tool requirements, and Direct Coin (DC) construction fees.
- Modular Room Expansions (CQB Basement Unlock): Construct and clear out specialized facilities—such as tearing down the barricades to access the basement CQB Killhouse—complete with dynamic deconstruction states, construction audio sequences, and permanent progression saves.

Safehouse CQB Shoot House & Training Killhouse
Located in the newly constructible basement, the Killhouse provides a high-speed playground to test weapons and run tactical drills against the clock:

- Reactive Knockdown Target System: Engage reactive silhouette hostiles, steel poppers, timed pop-up targets, and civilian/hostage no-shoot silhouettes. Critical headshot zones deliver score multipliers and instant flip-down physics with authentic steel clanks and cardboard impact audio. Accidental civilian hits apply severe debrief penalties.
- Millisecond Tactical Clock & Real-Time HUD: Stepping up to the entrance laser triggers a 3-second countdown buzzer (3.. 2.. 1.. GO!). Track active elapsed time down to the millisecond, live target acquisition count, and shot accuracy directly on your HUD. Crossing the finish line automatically stops the clock, closes/locks breach doors, and triggers your debrief.
- Tactical Debrief & Operator Performance Grading: Post-run evaluations grade raw completion time, par bonuses, accuracy, headshots, and penalties across four performance tiers:
- 🥇 Professional Operator (S-Tier / Elite): Sub-par speed and razor-sharp precision.
- 🥈 Tactical Run-Through (A-Tier / Veteran): Clean execution and disciplined marksmanship.
- 🥉 Standard Walkthrough (B-Tier / Qualified): Course cleared within acceptable parameters.
- ⚠️ Recruit / In Training (C-Tier): Missed targets or overtime penalties.
- 🥇 Professional Operator (S-Tier / Elite): Sub-par speed and razor-sharp precision.
- Personal Record (PR) Persistence: Your fastest time is permanently saved and benchmarked against future runs with high-score fanfare audio cues.
- Safehouse "Party Next Door" Dynamic Radio: Spatialized boombox featuring dynamic Low-Pass Filtering (LPF)—muffled bass murmurs in corridors and stairwells that open into crisp stereo upon entering the shoot house. Press [F] to cycle tracks, pause playback, or vibe under ambient LED lights.

Physics-Driven Ragdoll Impact Acoustics & Multi-Floor Occlusion
Body-fall audio and environmental impact feedback have been rebuilt to match real-time physics simulation:
- Exact-Timing Ground Collisions: Eliminated premature mid-air death stumble sounds. Body-fall audio now triggers via real-time physics collision callbacks (OnComponentHit), playing the exact millisecond an operator or AI physically slams into the floor.
- Multi-Floor & Wall Acoustic Occlusion (550 Hz LPF): If an enemy collapses on another floor (e.g., listening from upstairs) or behind concrete walls, sound is dynamically filtered through a 550 Hz Low-Pass Filter into a heavy sub-bass thud through the building envelope.
- Organic Impact Dynamics: Integrated double-impact physics (heavy primary slam + subtle secondary body bounce), randomized pitch variation (0.94x – 1.06x), and impulse filtering to eliminate sound loop repetition while settling on slopes.
Tactical Inventory & Magazine Systems Overhaul
- Magazine Drag-Merge & Deletion Exploit Fixed: Resolved a critical bug where dragging a magazine onto another identical magazine merged ammunition and deleted the source magazine actor. Magazines are now strictly treated as discrete, non-stackable tactical containers. Loose ammunition can still be packed and unpacked into magazines normally.
- Empty Magazine Ammo Display Clamping Fixed: Fixed an issue where depleted magazines (0 rounds) were clamped to "1 round" upon saving, syncing, or dropping into the world. Empty magazines now correctly show 0 rounds across all menus.
- Inventory Slot Boundaries: Reinforced container boundaries to prevent multi-cell spatial overlap when dragging loaded magazines between tactical rigs, backpacks, and secure containers.
[h2 Safehouse HQ Terminal: Reward Claim System & 13 Campaign Missions
- HQ Terminal Reward Claims: Completed operational contracts and directive milestones from Operation Shieldwall and Operation Eagle Recovery now show their completion state directly on the curved ultrawide terminal in the Safehouse office. Tap [CLAIM REWARD] to authoritatively deposit Direct Coins (DC), XP, and tier unlocks.
- 13 Campaign Directive Missions Across 2 Storylines:
- Operation Shieldwall (Maryland Compound): 7 tactical directive nodes including Insertion Recon, VIP & Spouse Forensic Sweeps, Executive Office Data Hacking, Breaker Sabotage, Red Cabin Clearance, Scout Ambush, and Russian Airborne QRF Interdiction.
