First of all, we want to apologize for the radio silence lately. We know it’s been a while since our last proper update and we should definitely keep you in the loop better.
We’ve been hard at work on Patch 6, which is officially set to enter beta this week.
Patch 6 took a bit longer than originally planned because it essentially grew into two separate updates. Rather than splitting them up, we decided to combine them into one more substantial release to deliver more improvements at once. With a short summer break in between, the timeline stretched a little.
What’s Coming in Patch 6 this week?
A major focus of this update addresses your top requested features- specifically overhauled controls and better tutorials. Key highlights include:
Improved Controls & Tutorials: Designed to make getting into the game much smoother.
New Systems & Features: A brand-new flight system, autopilot upgrades, and UI/UX refinements (prograde marker, improved perspective helper interface, consolidated RMB context menus)
Performance & Physics Boosts: Significant optimization, reducing CPU workload by up to 50%.
Stability Improvements: A large number of bug and crash fixes (no more wobbles and random explosions)
We plan to get this into your hands this week, and we’ll share the complete changelog as soon as the beta goes live. As usual, we expect to update the main branch in a couple of weeks, after we polish out most of the quirks.
Looking Ahead: Version 0.34
In parallel, work is already deep underway on the 0.34 release, which will continue to expand the experience:
Localization: New languages added.
Economy: Revised and dynamic economy
Progression: Overhauled campaign and progression loop.
Interface: Complete UI reskin for a much cleaner experience.
Late-Game Content: New late-game mechanics (more info soon!).
Modules: new modules in several categories
