🎨 Spray Paint System Completed
Added vehicle spray paint: vehicles now support custom paint jobs.
Added ground spray paint: put a spray can in your hotbar and press its hotkey to enter paint mode and leave marks on the ground.
Added spray paint for clothing / helmets / masks / magazines / shell collectors.
Stacked decals: place several decals on the same item, each with its own position, angle and size.
Added a batch of new built-in decal patterns.
After painting, the gear in your hands and on your body updates its look immediately — no need to holster it and take it out again.
Fixed the paint size being lost after editing and saving an existing paint job, and paint not showing fully on some vehicle models.
Fixed the color picker and the paint canvas panel not closing with ESC / Tab.
🗺️ Minimap
Added a minimap HUD that can be collapsed / expanded: collapsed by default on foot, expanded by default while driving.
🧟 Zombie Behavior Improvements
Zombies now have blood and dismemberment effects: broken bones and other injuries are far more visible.
Zombies react faster and no longer ignore fighting happening right next to them.
Attacking a corpse pile now brings zombies out of it — piles of bodies are no longer just scenery.
Raised the brightness and saturation of the zombie art, fixing zombies blending into the ground and effectively "hiding" in plain sight.
Fixed zombies hitting you through walls.
Fixed zombies hearing sounds through walls, and running straight into walls while chasing.
⚠️ Important Fixes
Fixed a power outage or improper shutdown corrupting the map data in your save; if corruption is detected while loading, the game now tells you clearly and lets you return to the main menu and use a backup, instead of silently regenerating the terrain.
Fixed hired teammates disappearing after reloading a save.
Fixed kill cinematics occasionally breaking your controls / slowing the game down.
Fixed the screen getting brighter and brighter with ever stronger bloom after repeated cinematics.
Fixed food still being able to spoil in a powered fridge.
Fixed knocked-down objects occasionally staying in place while being impossible to repair or dismantle.
🎒 Inventory & Items
Identical food now stacks visually in the inventory: click to expand it and handle any single item on its own — shelf life is still tracked per item.
Auto-sort now splits identical food into separate stacks by shelf life, so fresh and nearly expired items no longer end up in the same stack.
Magazines, batteries and weapon attachments can now be used directly from a \[bag inside a bag].
The equipment panel's weapon slot now has a left-click options menu (right-click still unequips directly), including one-click shell casing recovery.
After a magazine swap, the old magazine now goes back into the slot the new one came from whenever possible.
Fixed dismantling a stack of items only returning the materials for one, and using a stack of meds / food from the hotbar or in hand consuming the whole stack.
Fixed unloaded magazines / batteries having a weight of 0, and batteries stored in a tactical vest or clothing pocket not being usable to reload weapons.
Fixed the hotbar weapon durability bar not refreshing after butchering corpses, breaking doors, lighting fires or repairing vehicles.
Fixed item descriptions occasionally being blank or missing trait entries.
Repairing and dismantling can now draw materials straight from containers, without moving them into your main backpack first.
🔨 Repair & Building
Placing items, carrying furniture and building now show a placement grid, so you no longer have to guess.
The repair button on vehicle parts is now "Repair with Repair Kit", clearly separated from firearm repair.
Opening the build panel now pauses the game.
Build panel buttons now show their hotkeys.
🧑🤝🧑 Teammates & NPCs
Teammate NPCs no longer dismantle objects near the player's base, fixing "teammates tearing down your home" (the restriction is lifted once they are far from the base).
Fixed teammate NPCs not boarding vehicles with the player.
Fixed NPCs firing at enemies through cars.
Fixed teammate NPC explosions hurting the player: .50 BMG rounds and 40mm grenades detonating on walls / furniture / vehicles would catch the player standing nearby.
Fixed recruited teammates still attacking the player as an enemy, and recruited teammates ending up in the wrong faction.
Fixed neutral survivors in towns being treated as hostile, and spawned bandits turning into neutral survivors.
Fixed survivors not returning to a neutral state after being dismissed.
Fixed following teammates wandering off to scavenge on their own.
The teammate NPC list is more compact; fixed long names not being displayed.
Fixed errors and data corruption when hiring another player's character caused by different game versions or missing mods; the hiring price is now 2x the previous value (to avoid breaking early-game balance).
⚙️ Settings & Quality of Life
\[Auto-sort] \[Pause with inventory] \[Autosave interval] \[Long-range looting] have moved into Game Settings, so you no longer have to set them again for every new game.
Added an "Auto-sort on pickup" toggle to the gameplay settings.
Added a "World NPC generation" toggle to the gameplay settings: turning it off removes and stops generating neutral NPCs; character hiring and raider camps are unaffected.
Added an "Extreme" level to "Vision effect".
Long system notifications are no longer cut off.
Fixed the attribute add / remove point buttons doing nothing on the PDA character page, as well as layout and error issues on the attribute / trait / skill pages.
Fixed the inventory pause breaking after closing prompts such as "missing materials", and off-screen enemy AI still being active while the game is paused by the inventory and similar screens.
🌍 World & Environment
Fixed special locations such as merchant camps failing to generate.
Building roofs now collapse ring by ring; a few abandoned high-rises are generated with an entire exterior wall collapsed.
Interior side-wall doors now have a much more visible opening effect.
Fixed invisible gaps appearing in the walls inside buildings.
Tiles on the ocean and on standing water can no longer be set on fire.
Torches are only put out by real rain outdoors, and relight automatically once the rain stops or you go inside.
Fixed rain reaching you in basements and inside vehicles; fixed walking along a building's exterior wall being counted as being indoors.
Merchants no longer sell food that is expired or about to expire; the flare gun no longer wastes a flare before an airdrop has arrived.
⚔️ Combat & Balance
Increased the loot output of military bases / weapon test sites / military factories; safes now have a higher chance of yielding better weapons.
Firearm durability wear halved; durability loss when vehicles are hit by bullets and the like is also halved.
Fixed some weapon affixes not taking effect.
Fixed melee attacks on vehicle wrecks and similar objects showing no health bar and consuming no weapon durability.
Fixed laser guns / tasers / flamethrowers dealing no damage to vehicle wrecks.
Fixed arrows dealing no damage to certain monsters and disappearing; arrows that hit doors and safes now bounce off and drop to the ground instead of vanishing.
🎬 Visuals & Audio
Characters hidden behind buildings now show a translucent silhouette instead of disappearing completely behind walls.
Fixed audio sometimes becoming low-pitched and sluggish after a character's death or after bullet time.
🧩 Mods
The mod editor now supports importing custom sound effects (WAV / OGG only).
Fixed hard-to-read fonts in the mod editor interface.
🐛 Other Fixes
Fixed an item's menu no longer working after cancelling a dismantle because of a missing tool.
The "Open backpack" option is no longer missing from the menu of inventory items while the crafting panel, a furnace or similar screens are open.
