With the Ghost Festival upon us, a day steeped in a thousand years of tradition honoring our ancestors, we are bringing you a major update packed with new content.
This time, the Underworld will be anything but peaceful:
- Two new heroes, “Bai Wuchang” and “Ox-Head, the Temp Worker”, join the roster, each with unique abilities awaiting your command;
- New Soulstones and Tributes offer even more strategic combinations;
- The challenging special phase, “Karmic Outbreak”, has arrived;
- New monsters, anomaly events, and powerful new leaders await your challenge.
At the same time, we have carefully addressed a number of issues from previous versions. We hope these changes will make every stroke of the Judge’s Brush smoother and more satisfying.

New Features
New Karmic Outbreak Mode
- The “Karmic Outbreak” phase may appear randomly after the “Threefold Realm”;
- In some stages, the “Karmic Outbreak” phase will replace the “Lunar Eclipse” phase;
- Three new anomaly events will appear during the “Karmic Outbreak” phase;
- New Karmic Affliction monsters will appear during the “Karmic Outbreak” phase;
- A brand-new Karmic Boss may also be activated during the “Karmic Outbreak” phase.
New Heroes
Two new playable heroes have been added:
- The ethereal underworld constable — “Bai Wuchang”
- The hardworking Ox-Head temp worker
Other New Content
- Added new Ghost Festival outfits for NPCs;
- Added new build-specific Tributes and Basic Tributes;
- Added one new displacement-type Basic Soulstone;
- Added new Underworld Law upgrade effects;
- Added 16 new achievements for the current version;
- Added a Codex viewing function to the pause menu;
- Added a screen shake toggle;
- Added a summon opacity setting;
- Added a toggle for whether the game pauses when running in the background;
- Added a prompt on startup when a Continue Battle save is available.
Improvements & Adjustments
- Reworked save write protection and read-time validation to further secure save files;
- Increased the skill ban limit by 4;
- Increased the Soulstone ban limit by 21;
- Increased the Tribute ban limit by 21;
- Reduced Boss damage scaling to approximately one-third of its previous value, preventing players from being killed in one hit on Shura Difficulty;
- On Shura Difficulty, the Bosses in Xu Fu’s Black and White phases can now both be attacked. Defeating them will cancel the corresponding Boss sequence;
- Increased the damage dealt to regular monsters by the Bigfoot Event;
- Increased the interaction area of the Alchemy Cauldron;
- Adjusted the slot usage of Banned Soulstones and Awakening Soulstones so that they only occupy one slot;
- Added visual feedback when locking and unlocking content;
- Reworked the effect of Bai Wuchang’s exclusive Underworld Law Awakening Soulstone;
- Updated the description of the “Incense Burner” Tribute to clarify that its damage bonus only takes effect after obtaining it and defeating a Boss;
- Updated the description of the “Century Egg” to clarify that it actually grants 5 Tribute acquisitions, and adjusted its interaction with A Cong’s passive.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where the “White Tiger Pendant” Tribute caused additional Physical Damage bonuses to stop working;
- Fixed an issue where selecting another Tribute after opening and closing its details with the Y button on a controller could select the wrong Tribute;
- Fixed an issue where effects played incorrectly when entering the tutorial stage after changing Black Wuchang’s second skin;
- Fixed an issue where moving during the entrance animation on a new map could cause the character to teleport;
- Fixed an issue where the pickup information card remained on the UI after switching stages while picking up a Soulstone or skill;
- Fixed issues related to the “Funeral Robe” and mana-cost damage reduction. All damage is now consistently set to a minimum of 1;
- Fixed an issue where the Four-Element Borrowing Soulstone did not affect Black Wuchang’s starting skill;
- Fixed an issue where Lu Zhidao’s initial drops included skills belonging to other heroes;
- Removed the “Fortune Talisman” from the drops when the Earth God pet is equipped;
- Fixed an issue where the “Blood-Stealing Pill” did not increase the shield gained from the “Protection” Soulstone;
- Fixed an issue where replacing an evolved Silver Egg with a normal Silver Egg could cause the unequipped evolved egg to be counted at the same time;
- Fixed an issue where the Tu Heche Underworld Law could unlock the Codex after obtaining the first-stage chest early, preventing the unlock feedback from appearing when returning after completing the first layer of the Threefold Realm and speaking with Big Smart;
- Fixed an issue where the Advanced God of Wealth event displayed incorrectly when using the Dragon Pearl’s infinite money effect;
- Fixed an issue where closing the mini-game tutorial prevented the mini-game from starting unless the tutorial was watched again;
- Fixed an issue where the starting treasure chest could drop Basic Skills belonging to other heroes;
- Fixed an issue where True Xu Fu’s entrance sound effect was too loud;
- Fixed an issue where selecting “Select All” in the Talent Paper Figurine menu did not exclude already equipped Paper Figurines;
- Fixed an issue where upgrading could cause the Critical Hit Rate to behave incorrectly;
- Fixed an issue where characters could be defeated by leaders in the “Origin” stage.
