Greetings, Fountain Seekers!
The glorious day is finally upon us: co-op is hoisting the sails!
Starting August 31, you’ll be able to jump into the game together with your friends. Because apparently surviving alone wasn’t chaotic enough.
Co-op arrives as a free update for everyone who owns the base game. To make multiplayer work properly, we’ve reworked and adjusted a number of the game’s core mechanics, specifically with co-op in mind. Please notice that solo mechanics weren’t changed at all.
So grab a friend, two friends, or, dear god, three of them, decide in advance who gets blamed when everything goes horribly wrong, and prepare to set sail together.
Co-op in SFOY
Up to 4 players can play together in co-op.
Most actions are instant — crafting and interactions use Energy instead of timers.
Each player has their own Energy bar, so everyone can focus on different tasks at the same time: exploring, gathering, crafting, building, or managing the base.
Sleep is shared — it only begins when the whole crew is ready to rest (and the host initiates it).
Some production still takes time, such as making charcoal or drying hides, and continues in the background.
Progression expands your options with new consumables, skills, tools, and perks that improve Energy efficiency and help the whole crew.
At launch, the first three regions will be fully available to explore in co-op. The remaining two will join the adventure shortly after, as we continue working on the improvements and changes.
Thank you for sticking with us and waiting for this moment! Spread the word and grab your friends. Surviving is always more fun when you can drag someone else into it.
