0.21.0.21 Fast Load/Save, Cargo Ship Rebalance, Heat Rework, Mobile Station Improvements, Ukrainian Support, and Many Fixes
This is a big update for Final Factory, based on Months of play testing and feedback from users. Hope you all love it! We're still cooking on Multiplayer, which is coming out in the .50 update. No date to share yet, but it's getting close! Improvements:
(Aggro Rebalance) Eliminate Signal Generation for Defense platforms and solar panels. This should help with early game threat
Buffed Cargo Ships (renamed to Barges) storage, load speed, and range. Barges accelerate more slowly now, and looking to rebalance logistics bay inventory size.
Added a configurable range slider to inserters and Cargo Barges
Heat rebalance: Stations take much longer to overheat, overheat is more visible, and damage takes much longer to occur
Map will now highlight stations that are overheating
Overheat alerts now clear much more quickly
Unstable stations will no longer generate heat
Hovering alerts now highlights affected stations. If offscreen, you will see an arrow to the station
Allow cancelling deconstruction with right click
Zooming now matches the behavior of map zooming and doesn't feel sluggish
Connectors in a line with different speeds will now operate at their individual speeds, instead of running at the speed of the slowest connector
Added an output slot to Dyson platforms, ensuring that they can always produce outputs even if all their connectors are full.
Player name indicator is much easier to read on the map, especially if on top of other objects
Add arrow indicators on the map towards the player if they're offscreen
All stabilizer structures function on unstable/unpowered stations
Esc now closes the portal popup
Movable station commands can now be re-ordered by dragging them
Escape will now close the blueprint panel (not the blueprint) on the first press. A right click or second press will clear the blueprint.
When researching a technology with the panel open, the panel will stay on the selected technology when research completes
Enhanced system performance for very large stations
Updated to the latest Unity & Unity ECS libraries
Performance:
Large bases get a 50% FPS improvement
Saves & Loads are 1000% faster than before, and half the size
Optimized ram usage from fonts
Fixes:
Fixed game crash caused by a double free
The technology panel is now much more robust to errors
Fixed an issue where stations could take off with a component that prevents flying
Stations will only be prevented from taking off (not flying or landing) when they contain a component that prevents flying
Mobile station timers reset whenever the station departs, even if the timer hasn't expired
Tooltip for Metal Matrix Composites (and any other item) that requires >3 inputs will now correctly say "Quantum Printer" instead of "Atomic Printer"
Fix Mass driver upgrades from early .20 games where they could lose targets
You can no longer abduct Bauxite. Sorry.
Upgrading station components will not reset their settings
Zooming will not happen when a UI component is focused
Fix copy/pasting connector filters
Spawner chests will now copy/paste the spawner item
Pausing will now properly stop the game timer
Fixed a 1 frame lag for many systems
Prevented in-game tooltips from showing on top of the in-game esc menu
Made mod loading more robust, ensuring the game starts and enables you to disable broken mods instead of crashing on the load screen
Fixed race conditions where stations could land on top of existing stations
Fix broken construction bots from old saves
Prevent loading a newer save than the game version
Fix mass driver determinism problems and sync bugs when saving
Fix "no item to move" error
Mass drivers now fire items from their primary inventory and receive in the second inventory
Fixed a NaN error if you left a panel open on a dyson sphere while upgrading
Fixed multiple game crash bugs
Slow down background cooling to .1C/sec -- 10x slower than before (no effect on heatsinks)
Apply ambient cooling to unstable stations
Fix issue where connectors would not reconnect if some were being upgraded
Mass drivers now properly generate heat
Ensure save games load back to version 0.17.0.0
Make the glow on heat producers work properly
The map now updates when riding a mobile station
Portal dialog doesn't keep reopening if the player is inside the portal
The station panel will not break if part of the station is removed/destroyed
Station cores now rotate the expected direction
Station landing will no longer leave the UI hidden and non-functional
Stop list/portal list sorting and filtering is case-insensitive
Localization:
Add support for Ukrainian (Slava Ukraini)
Added a large number of missing translations
The mod menu is now localized
Fixed a number of broken symbols (e.g. %) in some languages
