It's been over a week since the launch of Prelude Dark Pain, and we're incredibly grateful for the warm reception. We've been listening closely to all your feedback and working hard to make the game even better thanks to your support.
Let's dive into the Patch 0.3.9 notes!
Battle Bonuses
We've heard all your feedback, and we know this is one of the most important topics.
To begin with, we've added a tutorial explaining what Valour Points are used for. These are earned by completing optional battle bonus objectives. If you've already finished the adventure, don't worry—we'll explain it here.
"Some battles feature secondary bonuses to earn VALOUR POINTS. These objectives are not mandatory. The harder the battle bonus, the more valour points you earn. Completing an objective awards valour points directly to your inventory, which can then be redeemed at the quartermaster for equipment or heroes. Please note that you can't redeem them in Early Access just yet! Don't worry though, battles will become replayable in a future update."
We've also made the following fixes:
Fixed all battle bonuses that were not working correctly.
A Neverending Search: Bonus 2 is now Eliminate 4 enemies with Rufio .
A Neverending Search: Bonus 3 is now Defeat the Reaper first.
Everlasting Blessing : Bonus 1 now requires completing the battle in 13 rounds instead of 10.
A Matter of Honor:
Bonus 1: Gala must survive.
Bonus 2: End the battle in 4 rounds or less.
Bonus 3: Defeat the Hooded ifure last.
The Traitor's Trail: Bonus 2 is now No heroes must be defeated, and Bonus 3 is now Konrad only takes damage from Gala.
The Great Train Robbery : Bonus 2 is now Push 6 enemies off the grid.
Hello, Rayder, My Old Friend!: Bonus 3 is now All heroes must survive without using healings.
Saving Hegoa: Bonus 3 is now No heroes must be defeated.
The Depths of the Veil: Bonus 3 is now No heroes must be defeated.
We also plan to introduce battle bonuses for random encounters in a future update.
Battle Formation
Battle Formation now correctly selects the ground grid.
Fixed an issue with the selection cursor.
Fixed a bug that could occur when selecting Battle Formation before a battle.
It is no longer possible to start a battle with an empty party.
Random world map battles can no longer be automatically skipped if your party has no characters.
Added a Return to Map button to certain battles.
Skills and Attributes
Fixed a bug that could cause attribute points to display as -1.
Attribute Points and Talent Points are now awarded on alternating levels (previously both were granted on even-numbered levels).
Skills now clearly indicate whether they deal Physical, Magical, or Hybrid damage, as requested by players.
Equipment Menu
The equipment customization menu for each hero has now reached its final design.
Equipped items are displayed at the top, while the inventory appears on the right.
Hero stats are displayed at the bottom.
All equipment now shows real-time stat changes, with positive effects in green and negative effects in red.
We're now in the polishing phase and would love to hear your feedback on these changes!
Changes and Fixes
Fixed multiple visual issues in battle maps and the world map.
Fixed VFX and SFX for heroes' basic attacks (Soren, Tizón, Tammais, Sade, and Rayder).
Fixed crafting recipes that were not working correctly: upgrading to Green+ now requires 6 units of 3 different materials.
Increased the size of some text that appeared too small.
Fixed world map collision issues.
Fixed a bug related to the battle bonus flag that could occasionally freeze the game.
Fixed an issue where loading a save after reaching the end of the Early Access content could repeatedly trigger the "Game Completed" message.
Fixed several issues when interacting with mission markers and entering battles.
Fixed a bug during one wave of The Bridge over Rainy Crag mission that could leave the game frozen.
Fixed a bug involving Duocco (NPC) in Saving Hegoa, where he could occasionally become frozen.
After listening to player feedback regarding the frequent zoom in/out behavior, Semi-Automatic Camera Mode is now the default camera mode.
Increased the Engineer's base damage from 40 to 50, and increased both Armor and Magic Defense to 8.
The Engineer's stun turret now pushes enemies.
Reduced the Armor granted by Tammais' War Gauntlets:
Green: 6 Armor
Green +1: 10 Armor
Sade's Cross now requires 4 Eternal Ash and 2 Gloom Ivory.
Upcoming Updates
We've read through all your feedback closely, and camera and controls clearly stand out as the top priority for a lot of you. We're actively working on improvements for both mouse and keyboard and gamepad controller.
We're also looking at several other quality of life changes you've asked about, crafting, manual save options, faster speed up time feature and many more…
