It's time to invite some (more) friends over for a game night, because Hidden in Plain Sight now supports up to 8 local players!
I hope you play it, and I would absolutely LOVE to see some 8 player videos. I can only imagine the chaos at the end of an eight-player Death Race match!
Some caveats:
This is only for Steam (Windows/Mac/Linux) versions of the game. Xbox and Switch remain 4 player.
Controllers are still required for each player.
I am a solo dev, and it's nearly impossible for me to test every configuration and brand of controllers. However, this has been tested on a variety of controllers by myself and others, so I hope it works well for you (Xbox, Xbox 360, PS4, generic Direct Input, etc have been tested).
Generic controllers might not work in Xbox 360 mode. Try switching them to DirectInput mode (usually by holding down a button or some combination of buttons).
The original game is available on a beta branch called "xna-original". If you have problems, you can always revert back to this version (though, of course, it's only four players).
