Hello Ghoul Hunters!

It’s been a while since my last update - hope you’re all still enjoying the summer! This past month I put on my writer’s hat and focused almost entirely on story. I’ve finished dialogues for the 11 essential characters added so far, along with detailed scripts for roughly 20 quests. That’s only about half of what I planned for the demo… which feels a little ambitious, I know. But I believe every one of them is necessary to deliver a proper, satisfying Act 1 - complete with a strong opening and a real sense of closure, even in a demo.

Story Sneak Peek

Speaking of the story, here’s a little more background from recent developments: after a particular event (known as the "Singularity") during Tunguska 1’s timeline, the Zone was no longer the same. The once-profitable serums became nearly useless outside the Zone, and the ingredients also grew scarce. Overnight, most Ghoul Hunters lost their businesses and were forced to find new ways to survive in the Zone.

You play as a villager living just outside the Zone. Your entire village - your family - is suffering from a sickness caused by the Singularity. The only thing that keeps the symptoms in check is the serums, but they are growing weaker and more expensive by the day. With time running out, you make the decision to enter the Zone yourself, searching for a real cure - for your family, and for you - before the sickness finally takes hold.

If you are interested in more lore and background story from Tunguska 2, make sure to sign up for the official email list - you'll receive a by-weekly immersive story nugget that gradually piece together a prelude that leads to the beginning of Tunguska 2's events.

Future Milestones

I'll probably spend a couple more weeks writing the rest of the demo's dialogues, and then back to coding some mechanics to support these quests, and populating the maps with quest objects, non-essential NPCs, and more accent items. And then I still need to make the new UI, a bigger skills system, and a great deal of testing and fixing bugs... It's still an uphill battle for the rest of the year, and I always end up taking more time than I anticipated. But I'll keep you updated :)

As always, thank you for your patience and support!
