Hello everyone! As most of you will know, 2 weeks ago we published a new version of RUMBLE to the experimental branches across all platforms, with the intention of having you try out some new features. We'd like to thank you all so much for the many detailed feedback posts you wrote about both the Party System, and the Structure Walking mechanic. We’ve been carefully reviewing them, and have now made decisions on how to proceed.
Party System
The Party System will very soon come to the LIVE version of RUMBLE. We’ll be taking the time to address a few of the reported bugs, after which the feature will be deployed across all platforms.
There will also be a small batch of new cosmetics included in this update.
Structure Walking
Structure Walking is not ready as a feature, as we’ve gauged from your feedback. While most of you seem to find it mechanically interesting, flight has been seriously affected by this changeset in a negative way, and we understand that that is too high a price to pay for this mechanic.
We’re going to iterate upon Structure Walking with the main intention of improving flight. Unfortunately we can’t begin working on this right away, as there are other priorities we have to focus on right now.
That said, these are our goals for the first iteration of Structure Walking, coming to the Experimental Branch later down the line:
Eliminate as much jitter as we possibly can.
Fix randomly getting hit by structures you’re standing on.
Improve control by for example lowering your standing height on top of structures.
Generally improve the consistency of forces while mounting and walking on structures.
Once we feel we have achieved these goals, we will update the Experimental Branch and once again ask you for your feedback. If by that point the feature is still not to your liking, we’ll either continue polishing it up, or look into disabling structure walking under certain conditions depending on the feedback we receive.
I believe that’s about all we can share for today, but stay tuned for more very soon! Thank you for helping us improve upon RUMBLE, for your patience in doing so, and for playing at all.
