Its been exactly a week since the launch and we wanted to say thank you all SO MUCH for such an amazing game launch! Honestly, Cat Chess was a fun, cute vision we had that we thought just must exist and it blew our mind how amazing the reactions have been. All we can say is thank you.
Of course, like any release some problems popped at the release, and we already made many improvements and fixed based on the feedback we are receiving from you!
Here are the main things we managed to do in the first week since release:
New Content: Added the Beach Chessboard & Gold Cat color customization.
Royal Animations: New victory dance and special attack animation for the King.
Competitive Features: Implemented ELO overlays and opponent tracking logic.
Platform Optimization: Full support for SteamDeck and Gamepad (including refined cursor speed and input fields).
Global Expansion: Localization expanded to 3 more languages with improved font compatibility for the rest.
UI/UX Overhaul: Complete rework of the Main Menu, Options, and Chess Result screens.
Performance & Stability: Added DX12 support and fixed Achievement tracking.
Quality of Life: New Piece Type indicators and a global UI scale setting for better accessibility.
We keep reading everything you are writing and we are now mostly working on explaining the stalemates a little better so it's super clear why a stalemate is a stalemate and on making the campaign fit players level, so having a harder option for people who are not new to chess.
