We hope you are well! As we finished with our WARNO - Tropic Storm previews last week, and we are getting into the summer period, today’s DevBlog will be a mixed bag of little bits and other news bops.
From WARNO - Tropic Storm’s after-summer release, to new models, fast-tracked Nemesis #8 - School’s Out!, and Season 5 Ranked Vote… There's lots to unpack.
Let’s go.
WARNO - Tropic Storm Release
As you might have guessed, WARNO - Tropic Storm won’t be released before early September. This is partly due to several new units added to the Army General campaign, which wasn’t initially planned, increasing the scope of work that needed to be done which also includes the usual dialogue and voice acting.

However, we are not slowing down, as you can see with the new models previewed further below. While these were not ready when their respective divisions were highlighted, they have just been released from the Eugen workshop and can be shown in all their glory.
What does that mean for you? With the longer development time for WARNO - Tropic Storm, we have decided to ramp up the production for Nemesis #8 - School’s Out!, as this mini-DLC requires a smaller batch of new models. Yes, the next Nemesis DLC will be released during summer, giving you something to do before the eventual launch of WARNO - Tropic Storm!
Nemesis #8 - School’s Out!
Nemesis #8 - School’s Out was the most recent community-voted Nemesis as part of the Nemesis - Second Chance vote. This upcoming DLC will feature two battlegroups with Instructor-class units, featuring NATO’s West German VfgTrpKdo 42 and the Warsaw Pact’s 71-ya Zapasnaya Tankovaya Diviziya.
In this particular vote, we gave you the option of six “runners-up” Nemesis options, regardless of previous pairing, which could gain a second life. Interestingly enough, the vote was won by an original pairing, Nemesis#6.3 - Schools Out!. Read more about this Nemesis concept in the DevBlog below.
Nemesis#6.3 - Schools Out
Nemesis #8 - School’s Out! will feature new NATO units such as HEIMAT-JÄGER (PzF) squads, FACHLEHRERGRUPPE Instructors, the LEOPARD 2A4(B), a few experimental LEOPARD 2A4(D), LEHRLEOPARD 1A3A1 Instructor tanks, anti-air BO-105 BSH-1, SIGINT-capable UH-1D HES helos, with air support being provided by F-4T and F-4E.

On the Warsaw Pact’s side, the Nemesis DLC will contain new units such as the BTR-50PUM-1 command vehicle, INSTRUKTORY infantry squads (with Instructor trait), heavy BTR-55 APC, a variety of new REZ., or Reserve units, from infantry to tanks to weapon teams, INSTRUKTORY T-64A, INSTRUKTORY T-72A, and INSTRUKTORY T-72B Obr. 89 tanks, BTS-4A ZU-23-2 and ZIL-135M S-60, and older Su-24 strike aircraft.

What’s next in Ranked Season 5?
As WARNO’s Season 4 draws to a close, we wanted to give you a full rundown of what’s next for Ranked, including a sneak peek into Season 5 and the new map pool vote.
End of Season 4
Season 4 will conclude with the upcoming release of Nemesis #8 - Second Chance. On the same day as the mini-DLC’s launch, a reset will take place after which Season 5 will officially start. Like last season, the names of the Top 20 players will be permanently displayed on the official Eugen Discord server. We will do our best to display the most important stats for all players of Season 4, so everyone can look back on their performance, but this is still a work-in-progress.
Season 5 - Map Pool Vote
In the new season, the map pool vote is upon us again (see further below for the link), but comes with a twist this time: there will be two preference questions for you to answer.
Question 1 - Map Pool Size: Should we keep the current system of 12 community-ranked maps, or should Season 5 feature all available maps (competitive maps only, training maps excluded).
Question 2 (in case Question 1 is answered negatively) - Your Favorites: As usual, rank your 12 maps in order of preference.
If the majority votes to keep the current system, these rankings will directly determine the Season 5 pool. If the majority votes for all available maps instead, we’ll open the full roster for the season.
Vote here!
The vote is open immediately and will remain open until Thursday, July 23rd. The results will be announced soon after.
Why Not Always More Maps?
You might be wondering why we don’t simply expand the map pool with every Ranked season? The more maps in rotation, the less likely you are to play each one - and more importantly - the harder it is for us to offer a fresh experience every new season. A curated rotating roster means each season will have its own identity and meta. That said, using the above vote, we are curious what you and the rest of WARNO’s community think!
