Hi players! We know you've been eager to have a roadmap or more clear plan out for the future - we hear you! For now, we hope this little summer update will bring some clarity to what the immediate future brings and what is coming up after the summer.
Short term goals (after summer):
Chapter 6 - The next chapter is being worked on and we are hoping to release it after summer.
New horses - New coat varieties for existing breeds are coming in the near future. Your many wishes for grey varieties have been heard!
Alderwood Open Races - Another way of earning tokens outside Crown Chase competing against larger groups of players.
Cross server activities - Crown Chase and other activities participants will be taken from ALL servers not just the one you are on, ensuring that your choice of server, and its population, is no longer a concern.
More clothing items - Darker, goth-inspired clothing has been heavily requested and is actively being worked on!
Clothing available to be bought with silver - highly requested and will be added to existing vendors in the future.
More tack variety - After release, unfortunately a lot of time was needed to fix clothing and tack that wasn't working properly. This took time away from adding new items. The worst of these issues are mostly behind us now, and this means we now dedicate more time to adding new items rather than fixing old ones. We really enjoyed adding the new Sunset tack set released with the Arabian and are really looking forward to adding more.
More real horse behaviour - We have enjoyed being able to add more idle animations and make the horses feel more lively. We want to continue improving and focusing on the heroes of our game.. Your horse might enjoy some relaxing grazing if put in pasture, or someone’s lawn. Additionally, when recalling your horse, the horse will actually be running back to you rather than magically teleporting.
We have NOT forgotten Halloween! Community requests for more engaging seasonal events have definitely been heard. We are looking forward to our favorite holiday season!
Long term goals
There is a lot more to come in the future 👀 Since our Early Access launch, we have updated the game 37 times so far and don't intend to stop anytime soon. We love welcoming players into Alderwood and we're doing our best to keep up the pace and keep moving forward with all the great suggestions we receive from our community 💜 A more long-term roadmap is on its way later after the studio vacation!
Studio Vacation
Summer is in full swing and that also means that the development team will be taking some time off to relax and recharge for the coming rest of the year. Early access and the live launch were very difficult and the team needs to rest and recover.
Building a game like this was a dream and actually making it took a lot of passion and sacrifice from the whole team. Our CEO regularly annoys us with his “this is a marathon not a sprint” speech so even if we don’t WANT to slow down we understand that we need to find some balance 🧘♂️ This means that during July and early August there won't be major patch updates or content coming out.
Please also understand that replies and responses to messages/tickets will also be slower than usual during the summer. We are so grateful for all of your support and kindness.
