DemonCrawl v2.5.0 is now available on the Windows stable branch.
This update introduces new content for the Summer seasonal event, the new Starving Plant boss, a handful of items, and various improvements for Arena.
Mac and Linux builds are expected to follow within 24 hours.

New Features
- New Summer rewards: 8 avatars + 2 inventories
- Summer avatars from 2022 moved to Summer Prizeboxes
- Added 2 new avatars to Summer Prizeboxes
- New boss: Starving Plant - "Spawn Hungry Plants, feed them when you make a mistake, and take damage when the boss eats them."
- New mythic emblem: ???
- New passive item: Gold Nugget - "When you complete a stage, gain coins equal to the number of stages completed. When you lose this item, gain 5 times that many coins."
- New consumable item: Pina Colada - "You have a 90% chance to negate damage until you take damage."
- New omen: Demonic Beach Ball - "When you win a stage, cast Beach Ball on a random living object. Opponents are better at Beach Ball and you take 1 damage if you lose at it."
- New omen: Melted Ice Cream - "Negate the completion of non-omen status effects."
- New omen: Leaky Water Cooler - "Every 10 turns, your fully-charged magic items lose half their total mana."
- Added the new omens to list of Summer Afflictions
- The Summer Item Shop has a rare chance to offer Pina Colada
- Each boss now has a custom item drop table
- Implemented standardized trigger event for full damage negation, rewired existing items into it
- (Arena) New time-limited homeland: Summer - "When a stranger spawns, it gains Parched if there are fewer Parched strangers than the homeland tier. If a Parched stranger is killed, you take damage equal to the round counter."
- (Arena) New Arena stage mod: Purge - "Every 5 seconds, destroy a random visible loot, stranger, or landmark object."
- (Arena) Added 5 Summer emotes to unlock

Quality of Life
- New main menu graphics for Summer event

- Remastered "Sand In My RNG" and repurposed it as Beyond final stage music

- (Arena) Added a Top 4 toast when entering Detour phase with 4 or fewer players remaining

Balance Changes
- Reduced frequency of Summer Lightning Bug spawns
- Lowered max cost of Priest from 30 to 25 coins
- Updated a few emblems to use Starving Plant as their likely boss
- (Arena) Mountain homeland nerfed: "Whenever you make a mistake, reduce the stage timer by 3 seconds times the homeland tier."
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a rare silent crash related to Blueberry
- Fixed boss icon missing in quests other than Endless Multiverse
- Rewired Shinobi Veil, Travelog, and Pipe Bomb into the standard "count stages complete" pipeline, which should improve consistency across gamemodes
- Fixed a visual bug related to some strangers firing normal greeting alert despite Parched state
- (Arena) Fixed stage timeout damage potentially ending a match before available revives could trigger
- (Arena) Fixed issue related to persistence of round-cumulative auras
- (Arena) Fixed issue with name shown in Shrine homeland toast
