Today, we are releasing an update to a game made in the year 2000.
In it, we fix the first two problems we were able to address - cutscenes and achievements. Both of those should now work properly on any platform, be it your PC or Steam Deck.
At the same time, we continue to troubleshoot other bugs that players are encountering right now.
We would also like to say a few words about how we ended up in this situation in the first place.
The main idea is to preserve and make available an old but still beloved classic in its original form. We certainly expected interest from players, but the response turned out to be far greater than we could have ever anticipated.
A huge thank you for that. This result once again shows how important it is to preserve and support classic games even after so many years.
That’s why we ask for a little more patience if your particular issue was not resolved in this update. We are doing everything possible to make Hard Truck 2 comfortably playable in 2026.
It’s important to understand that the game’s source code was lost over its 26-year history. Not all issues can be fixed on our own. However, the community already has solutions for some of them. Based on our work, we will compile an FAQ and include those solutions that players can use themselves if needed.
And once again, a huge thank you to everyone who answered the call of the road and decided to take this nostalgic journey with us. Words cannot describe how wonderful it is to see such love even after so many years.
