Today at the IGN Live show, Campfire Cabal announced the next title in the Expeditions series: Samurai - a return to the Age of Sail, and the series' first foray into Asia.
The year is 1600 AD. A battered Dutch frigate arrives in Japan following a harrowing journey. You - an English privateer on a mission from Queen Elizabeth - are thrust into command of the small surviving crew, and must navigate the dangerous civil war politics of Sengoku-era Japan. Through cunning, diplomacy, or violence, you must secure your crew's survival and find a place for yourself in this strange new land.
Expeditions: Samurai is the long-awaited follow-up to 2022's Expeditions: Rome. Samurai introduces major new features such as a full stealth system, ground-up controller support, dynamic 3D character portraits in dialogue, and most importantly: an optional full-campaign 2-player co-op mode with drop-in/drop-out.
