🛠️Age of Reforging: The Freelands v1.22a Update
ːarenacheersːMajor Changes:
With this update, we have completely overhauled the way game assets are packaged—a massive change with lasting and revolutionary benefits.
First, the total file size of all game assets will be reduced from 40GB to 33GB.
Second, the game’s overall loading speed (especially when first entering the main menu) will see a noticeable improvement.
Furthermore, from now on, new patch downloads will be smaller.
Finally, this change is expected to resolve the previous issue where “after major updates, some players’ game files would become corrupted, requiring a Steam file integrity check to play normally.”
However, the cost of this update is significant—you will essentially need to redownload the entire game. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause! Considering the many long-term benefits, this one-time effort is definitely worth it!
ːbrogogoː NPC Interaction System Improvements and New Features:

The affinity requirement for inviting an NPC to join your party has been lowered from 75 to 50, but the probability of successfully inviting high-level NPCs has decreased. The higher your level is compared to the target NPC, the easier it is to successfully invite them.
A “Give Gift” option has been added to conversations with freely interactable NPCs. You can select a gift from your inventory to give to the target, increasing their affinity. There is a three-day cooldown after each gift is given.

A “Love Confession” option has been added to conversations with freely interactable NPCs. NPCs with an affinity higher than 75 have a chance to accept the player’s confession and become the player’s romantic partner.
Now, whenever an NPC ally’s affinity with the player reaches 25/50/75, they will proactively seek to talk with the player about the progress of their relationship. Additionally, when a mercenary ally’s affinity with the player reaches 75 or higher, they will no longer charge the player a commission.
Now, when the player enters combat alongside a teammate with high affinity or a romantic partner, they will receive the “Friends in Arms” or “Lovers in Arms” combat buff, granting a small bonus during battle.
ːarenauhːImprovements:
Added a “Skip Prologue” option to the character creation interface.
Beastmasters can now recall their summoned creatures.
Improved the display of various in-game messages.
The limit on the number of NPC adventure parties on the world map has been increased from 4 to 6.
Players can now speak directly with party members in the Camp screen.
Improved the spawn order and rules for NPC groups and caravans on the world map; the game will no longer briefly freeze due to too many NPC groups spawning at once.
Improved the display of dialogue boxes and added UI tooltips to player dialogue options.
Improved the camera effects in top-down view.
Added a “Retro Camera” mode in the game settings. In this mode, the top-down camera maintains a 45-degree tilt and a 30-degree field of view (FOV), providing a rendering style closer to that of classic old-school CRPGs.
Added brightness, contrast, and saturation adjustment options in the graphics settings.
Completely revised the Russian localization text for dialogues.
With the help of ferreirajc87, the English dialogue text has been polished throughout.
The new “Camping System” is now applied when players rest at the tavern or in their own homes. Players can freely choose the duration of their rest, what to do while resting, and how to allocate food to their characters.
