Hello anyone! I recently acquired a VR headset and controllers, so I decided to make it a fun project to add VR support to Definitely Sneaky But Not Sneaky! So this update brings just that, and a few optimizations and bug fixes. Check out the new VR gameplay trailer:
Some important things to note! This is my first VR project, so there will probably be some things that need polishing. For instance, the VR camera controllers are a bit finicky at the moment and need fine-tuning. The game wasn’t really meant to hold up under such close viewing. You may notice some graphical inconsistencies or just a general lack of quality in models :) Also, I tested and developed this update on the Oculus Rift S, so there will definitely be missing controller mappings.
Features:
Added VR support; requires a VR headset and equivalent controllers
UI elements are attached to your left controller
New VR physical controls added to UI (restart level button, switch loadout buttons, camera position, camera size, camera distance (height), and camera rotation sliders)
New VR pointer added to right controller (the red ball in the trailer), this can interact with characters (kinda) and books on the maps
Small changes:
Level rankings display slightly faster before you start a level
Ragdolls can no longer dismember from the elbows or knees
Adjusted rank timings for level 128 in sneaky difficulty to make it more forgiving
Bugs fixed:
Enemies walked to patrol points in the wrong order
Ungrappling an enemy who had not seen you yet did not alert them to your presence
Deleting the last enemy waypoint or lookpoint softlocked the missions editor
Fixed a rare case where bullets spawned with non-normalized velocities (inconsistent bullet speeds)
Books on bookcases were not using the right materials
I want to reiterate that this is my first VR project. So there will probably be bugs and issues with the VR features. If you find any of those bugs or issues, or have any ideas, head over to the Community Hub and make a post! Thanks, Thomas boxedworks
