Marauder M-11E Babar

The Marauder Program makes its debut in Starship Troopers: Extermination with the deployment of the M-11E Babar.

The Babar is a powerful bipedal vehicle battle hardened and customized for the unique needs of the Deepspace Vanguard. These bipeds are tough! With thick armored plating and packing some serious firepower, the Babar is guaranteed to smash bugs, dead!

But stay vigilant! Always be cognizant of your limited ammunition and poor mobility! Rely on your Troopers on the ground to keep you repaired, and keep any Engineer nearby to keep you fully armed and dangerous.

Keep an eye out for the M-11E Babar Drop Mutator for a guaranteed chance of encountering these powerful new tools of the Federation! The Babar will initially be restricted to the Mutator for its release, with new methods of earning these machines coming soon!

Valaka Expansion - Hope’s Retreat

The Federation is determined to continue the rebuild and retake the land of Valaka from the Arachnids at all costs. With the Central Garrison tentatively under Federation control, and Victory Bridge fully reconstructed, MI Command has set their sights on reclaiming the grounds beyond.

[p align="center"]

Hope’s Retreat was once the site of great promise. A little slice of Federation Home far from home. But when the Arachnid menace drove our brave colonists off planet the site had to be abandoned. But with renewed Valaka colonization efforts, the many construction sites and storage yards are primed for reclamation and recovery.

Valaka will include a new mission area for Troopers to explore and defend for the Federation. The new area will feature a new Valakan ARC build zone, new AAS missions, and a new Horde base.

Re-enlistment Rewards

The Mobile Infantry’s VA Office has received a new budget allocating new pension plans for our most distinguished Troopers! We are happy to report that we’ve forgone an increase to monetary compensation, and instead all Troopers will be entitled to a selection of exclusive decorations and ceremonial weapons!

Liberator Revolver

Unlocked at Re-enlistment 3, a new Sidearm will be added to the arsenal for our most Elite Vanguards. The TW-7 Liberator is a powerful revolver-style weapon. Combining a compact formfactor, with a devastating punch. This new weapon is not only the most powerful pistol available to members of the Deepspace Vanguard but one of the more deadly weapons in the entire MI Arsenal.

New Supporter Cosmetic Packs

The Generals Supporter Pack

"Everybody fights, nobody quits.” If you don't do your job I'll kill you myself. Welcome to the Roughnecks!" It is time to take on the fight on behalf of The General and show the Bug you are ready to do your part with this most famous Generals approved armor theme set! This set includes:

The Buenos Aires Tigers Supporter Pack

Show your support and respect for the Buenos Aires Tigers, Johnny Rico's school's Jump Ball team. Be as dominant in battle as the Tigers were on the court.  Flip Six-Three Hole on One Troopers!

New Re-enlistment Cosmetic Rewards

To further celebrate our Veterans, they will also have the opportunity to flex on their fellow comrades with all new Nameplates and Banners unlocking new profile customization options to stand out amongst the drudges of lesser men and women.

Arachnid Tuning

Arachnid Bug Holes

Developments within Federation training programs have enabled a more varied selection of equipment to become a viable breach collapsing option. The quantities of lower yield explosives, such as the MX-90 Grenades, that were needed to close a hole have been significantly reduced. Troopers may also choose to use unconventional options like Napalm Grenades and Flamethrowers. Many options that would never have typically been reasonable for Bug Hole closure are now possible, and sanctioned by command!

Additional details about specific weapon options are listed in the Armory Tuning below.

Ambushes

The bugs have developed new methods of attacking and disrupting our operations by preying on our most isolated and vulnerable Troopers. Federation scientists report that the Bugs will periodically choose a specific target to be the focus of their Ambushes, and send closely spaced waves of bugs to increase the lethality factor. After a short while a new target will be selected, and the cycle will continue. All Troopers are recommended to stick close to your teammates as the first line of defense! Stay vigilant Troopers!

This is the start of major steps we are taking to increase the baseline difficulty in a typical match. Ambushes fill much of the idle time between Objectives and are critical to maintaining a constant baseline threat, and ensures Troopers are getting pressured in a variety of ways throughout the match.

The main difference with these changes is that Bugs will commit far more bugs in one area, instead of a trickle of bugs equally spaced throughout the mission. A swarm of bugs will harass a local area for a duration before moving onto the next target. By focusing attacks in a smaller area it increases the chances of overwhelming the Troopers and allowing a breakthrough in their defenses.

Mission & Gameplay Tuning

TAC Fighter Strikes

The old adage of “MI does the dying, Fleet does the flying!” was proving to be too accurate for the brave Troopers on the ground. Effective immediately, all TAC Fighter pilots have been recalled for mandatory retraining to ensure accurate identification of friends from foes.

Additionally, all TAC fighters will be outfitted with a far greater payload capacity, enabling them to drop a larger number of far more destructive bombs on the Bugs.

Trooper Tuning

Demolisher

Reducing the stacking multipliers that affects the amount of damage a single explosive can deal. To compensate for the overall reduction of damage, some explosives are getting base damage improvements. Additional details are listed in the Armory Tuning below.

Ranger

Moving some of the base kit survivability into Ranger perks. Rangers are still the paragons of sustained combat, but now will have a slightly harder time rapidly recovering Health without also taking a dedicated perk, or using Stims.

Armory Tuning

Adjustment to Extended Magazines

The overreliance on larger capacity magazines had been determined to be a critical weakness in the Federation Procurement process. More bullets is often seen as the only viable option available to Troopers. In order to support more varied loadouts, adjustments are being made the quantities of ammunition Troopers will be allowed to carry into combat. Federation experts have recommended increased standard-issue ammunition allocations for most weapons, and an overall reduction in reserve ammo gained from Extended Magazines modifications.

These changes are intended to provide a horizontal improvement when taking an Extended Magazine instead of another Magazine modification. In general, Extended Magazines will have a net-neutral total ammo capacity increase; either staying the same or reducing slightly. Instead, a selection of weapons will gain the Reserve Magazines modification, which provides significantly more reserve ammo without affecting magazine size or reload speed.

TDW-99 Morita Tactical SMG

Chief among the complaints from Troopers in the field was the underperforming tactical submachine gun. The unique challenges posed by the disgusting Arachnids has highlighted the weapons shortcomings. But our brilliant Federation Engineers have determined that the standard-issue ammo available does not effectively counter the typical bugs the Trooper is likely to encounter. So effective immediately, all Tac SMGs have been rechambered to a larger caliber for increased effect on target. Additionally, Hollow-point Rounds will now be distributed as the default ammo, providing a more sensible balance of stopping power and moderate armor penetration. Now, the unique Shredder Rounds will be kept in reserve for Troopers with additional field mastery. Shredders are a novel frangible ammunition designed to shatter inside the bug for maximum carnage, but lacks a hardened case capable of penetrating carapace.

New Modification – Shredder Rounds

Specialized frangible ammunition that deals extensive internal damage against unarmored bugs. Deals significantly more damage, but is less effective at staggering bugs or defeating armor.

New Modification – Reserve Magazines

Weightsaving measures allow the Troopers to carry significantly more reserve ammunition.

TW-2-R Sp.L.I.T Shotgun (Slug)

The Federation has enacted new tolerance standards for any rifled shotguns in an attempt to improve accuracy of single shots after Troopers have taken to using their shotguns in a pseudo-sniper capacity. To further support the Trooper’s questionable decision-making, Federation Engineers have dusted off an experimental ammunition type, the Sabot Slug. These shells fire an armor-piercing discarding sabot, effective at far longer ranges than typical for a shotgun.

New Modification – Sabot Slugs

Deal less direct damage, but gain improved range and armor penetration.

M-56 Pilum Rocket Launcher

The Pilum, while not considered a typical standard issue, was lacking some critical firepower. The launcher will be reassigned as an Anti-Elite weapon, with adjustments to its performance to reflect its new intended role.

These changes help to make the Pilum much more effective against larger beefier targets, allowing it to deal a serious punch against Bug Holes and Tigers.

TW-205-E Morita II

The herculean efforts of our Federation Scientists deserves to be commended. The field tests of the Experimental Plasma Launcher has proven to be too effective. The widespread adoption has placed severe strain on the Deepspace Vanguard's remote fabrication capabilities. Corners need to be cut to keep the production of these powerful rifles intact and at a greatly reduced cost.

The Plasma Launcher simply trivialized too many threats. We wanted to keep key breakpoints intact, but require full charge to reach them. Troopers should still be able to 1-shot Bug Holes and Tigers with a Fully-charged shot, but will no longer be able to 1-shot Royal Guards (with specific Perks.)

TW-244-C Morita Carbine

Adjustments to keep the Carbine competitive with the SMG. The Carbine still offers clean handling, superior magazine capacity and improved mid range performance.

C-32 Chi-Hong MGL

Morita XXX

FU-17 Flamethrower

MX-90 Grenade

Help to ensure frag grenades can more effectively close bug holes, and become more useful against Warriors by increasing the 1-shot kill radius.

Thermo Charges

Keep the damage potential comparable to Proximity Mines and make them a more efficient option for closing Bug Holes.

Custodial Training

As originally stated, Troopers will now be compensated for time spent clearing bug corpses.

Quality-of-Life

Critical Strike Spawn Points

Troopers will not be able to select which spawn point to spawn at. Rally beacons will still allow anyone to spawn on them.

Tac Map Readability

The map layers provide better context for player location across multiple levels at once. This will assist Troopers in multi-level areas with challenging navigation.

MI Crates

The Federation has approved new equipment for storage inside standardized MI crates

Default Ammunition Types

The MI Field Manual lists the standard-issue ammunition type for each weapon. Troopers are required to familiarize themselves with the needlessly complicated acronyms and their specific calibers.

The default modification does not affect base attributes. These mods are merely provided to streamline comparisons between an optional Ammo modification and the default choice.
