Season 6 Patch Notes

Season 6 arrives today! You can find a lot of fixes, optimisation, improvements and more arriving with this Season’s release. This season, we were able to tackle over 350 bugs, ranging from the QA on our Season 6 game modes/features/vehicles and previous Season bugs, especially those reported by the community. We have also made a big improvement on our ratio of bugs created vs. bugs fixed, which is extremely important to achieving an improved standard. This proves the extra time has proved to be worthwhile, and we are confident that the next updates will bring even further fixes from the community and improved optimisation on all platforms.

• Optimisation - Reduced memory usage of oceans by improving ocean culling.

• Fixed crash when starting the game with an upscaler mode that isn't supported by the GPU.

• Fixed crash when exiting Poker game while not yet seated.

• Fixed various issues with Poker

• Fixed crash when using photo mode.

• Improved billboards visual quality

• Fixed lighting sometimes broken on vehicles when exiting hubs with reflection quality setting at very high

• Fixed traffic lights sometimes stuck on yellow

• Fixed errors in the time cycle sometimes happening when changing islands

• Fixed messages sometimes being displayed twice

• Fixed game becoming unresponsive after entering a product code during a race

• Updated Solar Pass and Shops cameras

• Replaced unlocking of items when passing clan levels by a money reward

  • HKI - football pitch has dirt patch on it

  • IBI - park has incorrect textures throughout the area

  • HKI - Aberdeen Gas Station water grate allows players cars to fall through the map

  • IBI - the player is able to drive underneath buildings in 'Dalt Villa' district 'Ibiza' due to  missing ground assets

  • HKI - The sign board appears to be levitating in the 'Central District' (District 3)

  • HKI - Flowerbeds are found in the road

  • IBI - Two of the walls of a villa in the 'Figueretes' district appear incomplete in the Ibiza island

    • Note: there are still other areas we need to work on to completely fix this issue

  • Other various places on HKI/Ibiza (totalling a total of 100+ fixes alone (separate from the 250 mentioned in total))

  • Note: this is a continued effort to improve other areas in each Season

• Fixed parking garage near British Performance being blocked

• Fixed Rock LOD Appears Black Rather Than Correct Colour

• Fixed Duplicate currency indicator displayed in beauty salon.

• Fixed The lighting inside the convenience store beside the gas station is excessively bright

• Controller/Keyboard visual steering tyre sync - players who use controller and keyboard will no longer see a slow turning speed, and the visual dynamics of the tire now match the physics of the vehicle.

  • Note: We still want to improve this so that the actual interior steering animation can keep up with the input in certain conditions, but it requires further testing and code work. We’ll update you when we have more news on this.

• Dirty Air Overhaul: We’ve improved how dirt air works in the game based on player feedback. There is now up to 0.3% to 0.5% of less drag behind a car and we added a linear progression from 100 meters to 0 as it was previously an on/off trigger. This should improve how players race at high speeds.

  • Note: We are curious to hear your feedback on this improvement, and we’ll be watching out socials regarding this.

🔊 Sound

• Fixed issue while using an H-Shifter, the vehicle incorrectly produces a 'rev match' dynamic/sound when the gear select is in neutral too quickly (with auto-clutch off)

• Fixed Alfa Romeo 4C Spider sound clips at redline

• Fixed missing tunnel reverb on Ibiza

• Improved sound balancing for vehicle audio and AI audio

• Fixed BMW M4 Competition exhaust pop

• Fixed Evija, Battista and Taycan Are Missing Sounds From Other Players/AI In Freeroam/Events

• Fixed Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Sound On Throttle Below 3k RPM Is Silent

🖥️ PC

• Various PC specific optimisations

  • PC players should see an improved frametime/stable framerate

  • Improved shadow performance

• Added possibility to move camera around the car with the mouse using left click

• Fixed FXAA not working when no upscaler is being used

• Improved multiple inputs so players can now use their wheel and other devices without affecting steering angle animation and sync

• Better select settings when some settings depend on others (resolution/refresh rate)

• Fixed upscaler quality being better at 99% than 100%

🔵 PS5

• No PS5 specific improvements/fixes

🟢 Xbox Series

• Increased default upscaled resolution to 1440p in performance mode

• Fixed controller disconnection prompt reappearing after switching between wireless and wired controllers during gameplay

• Improved SSAO

🌐 Network

• Fixed sessions not properly cleaned up after players leave

  • Players should notice an improved grouping as a side effect of this fix

  • Players should now find live events such as Hot Heads will work

  • Players should find lobbying in social spaces have improved

• Fixed various Lobby errors

  • Players should find that the race/event errors will appear much less

• Various optimisation improvements

The team is working hard on continuing our efforts to improve the game with further bug fixes and optimisations. We won’t have any specific details on future fixes and improvements in these patch notes, but you can expect fixes in the following area:

• Vehicles: Further fixes and improvements to vehicle modelling and lighting

• Sound: Further fixes and improvements to vehicles sounds reported by the community

• Gameplay: Further fixes and improvements to gameplay

Any other areas such as optimisation, network, and more we will discuss in more detail in next month's Solar Club Letter, so stay tuned! The team at KT is working very hard to continue bringing a more polished game.

We are also aware of console players mentioning the removal or option of Motion Blur. We will investigate this and hopefully have news in next months Solar Club Letter.
