No, I’m not talking about allergies or the smell of your wet dog after a long, muddy walk in the rain. I’m talking about Spring… and its unpredictable guest Easter that likes to surprise you on different dates every year.
All this can only mean one thing: Luma Island is going to gatecrash the festivities. Much like your aunt who keeps showing up uninvited to your birthday party but somehow always brings you a really thoughtful present. How does she know you secretly love cinnamon bun scented candles?? The lady is a mystery.
So what’s in the goodie bag this time? I know it may come as a surprise to you… if you didn’t pay any attention to what I wrote earlier: it’s all things Spring!
So, please join me in welcoming the fluffiest new member of our Luma family, the Bunny Luma. He’s got a… spring… in his step. Get it? I’ll see myself out.
But! Not until I've told you about the new Spring Bundle in Balthazar's drawing shop. We’re talking new decorative items, cherry blossoms everywhere, an Easter Egg hunt in town and goofy hats. New Features
Do you know what comes with a cuteness overload guarantee? The new Bunny Luma. I mean, just look at those floppy ears and his little bowtie. 🐇❤️ Visit Zara’s Pet Shop in town to hatch your very own Bunny Luma egg. The. Fluff. Is. Real.
Moving on to the new Spring Bundle in Balthazar’s drawing shop, ever fancied decorating your farm with a Spring Basket and a Picnic Blanket? Not really?
Well, what if I told you that clicking on the Picnic Blanket lets you watch the trees on your farm turn cherry-blossom pink? It’s exactly like in Japan but without the crowds (and sadly also without the delicious onigiri and polite customer service 🥲).
And guess what happens if you click on the Spring Basket? You get to fill it up! With Easter eggs from your very own Easter Egg hunt in town. Because I know how to delegate work. To you.
Balthazar also threw in drawings of some very special Plant Pots in the bundle. Try clicking on one of the plant pots while you have a flower, mushroom or berry bush selected in your Hotbar… *drum roll*... Yep, you get to plant it. 🌷 Actual flowers in actual plant pots. You never thought you’d see the day, did you?
Apropos nothing, how’s your hat collection? Is it in need of a touch of Spring? I thought so. Say hi to the brand new Easter Egg Hat and the Bunny Ears Hat. Or don’t. I mean, who talks to their hats!? I certainly don’t. And certainly not every day. Who told you that? Not my hats, that’s for sure. They know when to keep quiet. Either way, a fashionable Easter awaits you. Did I say fashionable? I meant to say ridiculously goofy. Do not - and I repeat - do NOT wear these hats if you take yourself seriously. 🐣🐰
Tired of clicking a bajillion times when moving inventory items to and from your storage chests? Me too! But clickety-clack no more; we’ve finally(!) added Quick Fill and Quick Take buttons. Be gone, RSI!
Speaking of RSI, why should your mouse have all the fun? In the inventory, you can now also use the LB button on your controller to move items between the Hotbar and the inventory. Just like right-clicking on a Hotbar/Inventory slot with the mouse. Because equality. ✊
Fixes & Changes
We’ve potentially fixed a rare bug that turned temple rooms pitch black in multiplayer mode. I say "potentially" because… *engage whisper mode* Hubris is listening in and loves to point out when we overpromise and underdeliver.
We've also added yet another potential failsafe to prevent Rabbits and Chickens from napping during the day. As some of you will recall, this bug was almost definitely fixed in 1.1.7 and banished to the shadow realm… which is like a permanent “naughty step” for bugs. The latest failsafe is simply a… precautionary measure and not an admission that somebody accidentally opened a portal from the shadow realm back to Luma Island.
Your Chickens and Rabbits will now show an exclamation mark icon (instead of a ZZZ icon) whenever they’re holed up inside their coop/hutch because of Foxes. This is a hint to let you know that you need more Goats in your life.
Two of you players should (hopefully) no longer be prevented from re-entering a cave after hitting the Cave Reset Switch and making a daring last-second escape. Because who needs more drama in their lives. Not me. Not you. Not even the drama llama.
The Magnetic Chest drawing is now unlocked for all players if one player buys it. One for all and all for one - and all that jazz.
If you played Luma Island over Christmas, some of your farms may have been stuck under a permanent blanket of snow - even if you didn’t build a Christmas Tree. We've finally let the snow melt. Spring can officially begin. 🌸
