We are happy to announce Project Castaway 1.0 is finally coming on March 16th 2026.
What are the major changes since our Early Access launch on September 2024?
Co-op. You can play with your friends, and even load save files with them that existed prior 1.0!
Complete localization.
UI has been overhauled. It now has the same style across the entire game.
Added UI-based storage, where you can store any item, and a mobile cart version that you can move around.
Added challenge gamemode. Complete tasks on a limited time.
Added creative gamemode. No craft requirements? Infinite health? We got you covered.
Added animal and resource respawning.
Added snakes.
Added Steam achievements and cloud saves.
Added customizable keybinds.
Added several start options, allowing you to customize your gameplay.
Added several conditions, like poison and infections.
Added several new plants. trees, craftable items and structures.
Added wrecked underwater containers you can scavenge and a craftable oxygen tank.
Improved terrain textures and general graphic fidelity.
Improved performance, loading times and memory footprint.
Fixed raft physics on several scenarios.
And a lot of other bug fixes!
