A few users (about 1 in 1000) have been experiencing an issue where the game crashes on launch with the following error:

This is unfortunately a known issue right now with Gamemaker and there is a ticket logged with YoYoGames to correct it. I am tracking this carefully on their Github, but a full fix is out of my hooves! The issue is related to a function which sets the game in fullscreen mode and probably related to very specific device hardware for each user. Having said that I have some good news! I made a version that disables all Fullscreen functions!
If you are having the issue, follow these steps as a workaround to play the game!
Right click MareQuest: An Interactive Tail in your Steam Library
Click Properties...

Click the Game Versions & Betas tab and select the windowedlaunch radio button

Exit the properties and ensure your Selected Version is windowedlaunch before playing the game

I have confirmation from a user that this has fixed the issue for them! If you know anyone with this issue please let them know!

In other news I just wanted to say how humbled I am by the response from Steam Horsefest. I really didn't know what to expect going into it, but the game has had more units sold in the last 24 hours than pretty much the last 2 years. I'm a bit overwhelmed by this and the constant notifications everywhere. But I do want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving this silly mare game a chance. Everyone's enthusiasm and love for cute little pastel horsie friends have made the many sleepless nights of development well worth it. I'm also so happy to have a nice little cushion of funds set aside for Sunny and Fallen Oak Horse Rescue! I know I've shared this picture a thousand times, but she's such a good rescue horse and everyone's generosity allows her to be able to live a happy horse life in a picture perfect paddock where she has all the grass, friends, and the most loving caretaker a horse could ever ask for!
Thank you Steam for Horsefest and I hope everyone has a Happy Year of the FIRE horse!
