Checkpoint -- the next and newest Intruder map -- is nearly ready for a public release.
We've been hard at working trying to wrap up the map for the Winter Sale but our ambitious ideas have taken a bit longer to finish than expected. The new gadget centered around the entire map has been tricky to program and a challenge to balance for gameplay. Trying to have this new addition feel refined and fair is extremely important because it may be added to our other maps as well, including Mountainside and Riverside.
We're very excited about it. We're even more eager to get it in your hands, collect your valuable feedback, and improve everything we can before the official launch in 2026. But in order to try it you will need to join the upcoming...
Checkpoint Playtests
Checkpoint is nearing completion. We are testing internally with the Superboss team but wanted to open up playtests before the final release to collect some data and get your feedback. In order to join, you can apply for Secret Base Alpha.
Over the next month, Intruder players who participate in the Secret Base Alpha program can gain early access to Checkpoint playtests and other future updates. We will be having the playtests in focused sessions where the devs and players will be playing matches, trying the new features/gadgets, and getting feedback for updates and changes.
Want to register for Secret Base Alpha? Join the Superboss Games Discord and visit the #join-secret-base-alpha channel to sign up. Superboss Games will notify SBA members about organized play times, collect player feedback, and strengthen Intruder using community feedback.
The SBA community is invaluable, and we're excited to expand it as we prepare for the upcoming Checkpoint update.

Holiday Maps & Snowball Launcher
We've really enjoyed updating various Intruder maps and features for the holiday over the years -- which means by 2025 we've built quite the collection of Winter-themed updates. So this year, we're bringing back a collection of festive favorites.
You'll find crystal formations and candy canes across Snowceanside, which features a Hack objective.
Riverside Holiday is similarly decorated, with bright lights, a healthy dusting of snow, and a frosty chill to the beachfront property.
Mountainside Holiday brings its new mode to the table, which sees Guards and Intruders competing for control of a Christmas Tree to extract its gifts -- before frostbite eventually consumes you.
On top of this, the Snowball Launcher weapon returns! This modified shotgun fires high-velocity snowballs that not only knock opponents over, but can launch you into the air to instantly access elevated areas or get the drop on the enemy.
New Festive Unlocks and Favorites Return!
While earning double XP in Intruder over the holiday, you'll naturally be able to earn holiday-themed cosmetics. We've released a brand new Holly skin which is available for every weapon and added a brand new rock skin.
We've taken the time to remaster and remake the final "old" hats: The Santa and Rudolph! These classics are looking better than ever and do not need to be re-unlocked!
The Bulb, Snowman, and Candle hats are unlockable again alongside the Reindeer Falcon giftwrap skin. These annual seasonal items are only available for a limited time, so be sure to earn them before the Steam Winter Sale ends!
Improvements & Fixes
Ragdolls will only trigger death zones if they touch the torso instead of any piece of a limb
Automatic shader replacements on any workshop map if there is a missing material shader
Map select will no longer show blank maps if you can't access that map
Better calendar event map loading
Looking for 3d Character Artists & Environment Concept Artists
To get Intruder closer to 1.0, we are looking to finally redo the character 3d models for the Guards and Intruders. We are also looking for concept artists to help flesh out the environments of future Intruder maps.
