Development of KeeperRL is still going strong, even 1.5 years after the 1.0 launch. I’m always thinking about how to make the game accessible to a wider audience, which is why, over the past few months, I’ve added localization support to KeeperRL’s engine. The game now features an official Polish translation, with more languages coming soon.
But that’s not all! This patch also introduces a ton of quality-of-life improvements, so even the English-speaking community will have something new to enjoy. You’ll find the details in the patch notes below.
I'd like to make it clear that since v1.0, KeeperRL aims to maintain save and mod compatibility across all updates. If you find that your mod or save file cannot be loaded in a new version, please get in touch!
Double clicking on resource patches selects the entire patch when digging.
Some minion activities, like sleeping or being tortured, will no longer reset back to idle instantly, and the creature will make multiple attempts if the task fails.
Improved roof tiles.
When an item is crafted, it is given to the crafting creature instead of dropped on the floor, to avoid items sinking or landing outside of territory.
The Double Trouble spell will not clone consumable items, to avoid possible abuse.
Lava golems will only spawn when molten rock is dug out, not when merely passing next to it.
Creatures will only drop their weapon if they don’t have enough healthy arms to wield all weapons.
All undead, including steeds will use coffins when sleeping, in order to be able to heal body parts.
Added real-time messages for when undead heal their body parts in coffins.
Removed the “permanent” prefix from balsam names to avoid very long names in the workshop menu.
Weapon enchantment scrolls will also work on ranged weapons and secondary weapons if more than one is equipped.
An item count slider is shown when buying large quantities of items using the “trade” menu.
Added a search box to the bestiary list.
New “altar” minor locations on the world map.
It’s not possible to pillage from tribes not destroyed by the player or whose entire population was recruited.
Added real-time messages for knight and dwarf promotions.
Made it impossible to travel while entangled, tied up or immobile.
Current forge material tab will be remembered after closing the workshops window.
The “repair automaton” ability will only repair one part at a time. The countdown was reduced from 15 to 10 turns.
The game won’t grant experience for executing prisoners or dismantling automatons.
Shift+clicking in the workshop window will queue batches of 5 items.
Healing items and spells will only be used when health is below 50% or if the creature is in active combat.
When busting down doors, creature’s best attack attribute will be used, not just melee damage.
Goblin matrons are accepted through the immigrant menu, instead of only joining when seen in the turn-based mode.
Kraken tentacles are allowed to pass through forbidden zone.
Flooding pits next to an enchanted pool creates more enchanted water.
Fixed a mod visibility issue that made some mods not show up in the game.
