The past few weeks have been packed with updates, and I am excited to bring you a massive list of improvements, optimizations, and new features for Train World! From quality-of-life upgrades to brand-new locomotives, there's a lot to cover—so let's dive in.
🚂 New Steam Locomotives
- 0-6-0 Portola (Era 1)

📊 Industries & Production Panel
- New UI to track all available industries across your unlocked regions
- View available production chains and plan your industry expansions with ease
🛠 Major Optimizations & Fixes
- New "Sell excess wagons" toggle in the Replace panel—excess wagons are automatically sold if the new train setup doesn't match length requirements
- Updated train panels with larger Replace and Inventory sections
- "Remove all" button added to quickly clear train layouts
- Improved route visualization—now you can track the current train's route in Follow Camera mode
- Pathfinding Optimizations—significantly reduced memory usage and improved performance, especially with large train networks (50+ trains)
- Fixed multiple issues, including saved game loading errors, passenger display issues, and waypoint auto-wait errors
🎛 Enhanced User Controls & Customization
- New train pause mechanic—trains can now be stopped at waypoints without requiring a route edit
- Updated train panels—Replace and Waypoint panels are now more user-friendly, plus you can now select multiple save files for deletion
- New "Auto-renew on low lifespan" toggle—when enabled, trains with low lifespan will auto-renew if possible
🌍 Enhanced Visuals & Immersion
- Updated terrain modifications for bridges, tunnels, and tracks, fixing grass patches and terrain edges
- Stylized background images added to the loading screen for a fresh new look
- Updated biomes & improved animal placement for better visual realism
- Updated rail color coding in Map View & Minimap for better clarity
- Inside train sound effects! Experience the rush of being onboard with realistic train horns (H key) and new follow-camera wind sounds
🔧 QoL Upgrades & Bug Fixes
- New graphics settings: Toggle sun movement and cloud shadows
- New alphabetical sorting for the Connections list
- Waypoint UI improvements—Updated Remove button position to reduce misclicks
- Fixed missing passengers—Passengers now appear correctly on stations even after reloading a save
- Fixed various errors with routes, train lists, waypoints, localization, and UI interactions
- These updates are all designed to improve your gameplay experience, whether it's optimizing train performance, enhancing visuals, or making management easier. We’re continuing to refine Train World based on your feedback, so keep those suggestions coming!
